From CR2CRF on ProRide.com
"I was two feet from it when he rolled into the mechanic area. About fifteen spokes totally pulled/ripped out of the rim and mangled. One hard landing and it would have been a nasty endo for sure. The broken bike was legit."

Why get mad at Stroupe.....Reed should have been out front and he wouldn't have to worry about it....it's called racing. I don't think I've ever seen a top rider pull off from broken spokes.......We'll see what he is made of now.
It just sucks and I am upset...ok ok sorry Stroupe...But Dungey look amazing.

You should be Reed's PR guy. Alot of rimming and a good solid answer kudo's to you.

Go Windam, hell of a race from that guy!!! I think Stewart has it in the bag though. He looked very mature, calm and collected. Turns it on when he needs to. Coming from 4 seconds back in a couple laps is pretty tough and he made it look easy. My .02.

Not enough time and why risk injury having him ride for nothing? The laptimes were around 1:06 and by the time they would have sent somebody to the semi, ran back and changed the wheel your looking at a min of 6-7 minutes I would think. There is no way he could have made up enough to scrounge any points. Villopoto hurt his wrist during practice and was riding tight.. Bad night for Kawi! I think next weekend will be much better for them.

I think that will be the trend with your post's in this thread. Only domination thats going to happen is going to be by a guy riding a Yami allthough Dungey made him work for it. Your best bet is to hope that Reed can get around Dungey & Villipoto to find the podium every once in a while....

Is it me, or is Reed's diamond earrings making your wives jealous too?
I'd also like to comment on how many punk kids I am seeing with thier hair hanging out of thier helmets. Come on guys (or should I say boys?) show your sponsors some respect and clean yourself up. Take some lessons from Dungey, he is a sponsor's dream.

Nobody called him a talentless hack that couldn't ride they only said he is a whinny biatch and they didn't like him or the way he presents himself to the public. I can't stand Jeff Gordon his voice makes me want to stick a ice pick in my ear does this mean I don't think he is a talented driver no it just means I can't listen to him talk. I put Chad Reed in the same catagory except Gordon actuly has beaten the best on there best days to win championships unlike Reed.

No matter, Reed IS a great rider. The real difference between Reed and Stewert is thta Reed is very controlled and consistant and Stewert is, or should I say, WAS reckless. Stewert will do what it takes to win the race, even if it means crashing trying to win. Reed wont, or hasent race with that reckless. However it does look like JS has matured a bit, too late for me to be a fan of his, but we will see where that takes him this year, or how long that maturity lasts with the likes of Reed, Dungy, and Villopoto. Definatly shaping up to be one of the best SX series ever!

2.Stewert

From racerxonline.com - racerhead - ping's section
"Why didn’t Kawasaki try for a quick wheel change? I talked to Team Manager Mike Fisher and got an explanation:
“Sometimes, when it’s only a few spokes, you can stop and rip the broken ones out and continue. But this wheel was really bad, and the spokes were going in different directions. You could literally hear the wheel pop when he hit Stroupe. Then the wheel was wobbling through the rhythm sections. It wasn’t safe to ride it that way.”
So why doesn’t Kawasaki have a Mule down there with spare wheels?
“When we’re racing outdoors, we have a Mule with a subframe, wheels, handlebars, levers, silencers...” said Fisher. “We could basically rebuild a bike during a moto. But in supercross, you don’t have that much space, so you’re not allowed to bring a Mule down there. We could try to just carry all of those parts down there with our hands, and have a big pile of subframes, silencers, wheels, but that’s a lot of stuff taking up a lot of space. I don’t even know how we could carry it all. And then how do you guess what you need? We’ve never had a wheel problem in supercross in the five years I’ve been team manager, so we could bring a front wheel down there this weekend, and we could end up needing a subframe, instead.”

When Reed And Stewart crashed it was just a racing thing Steart was trying to pass the guy in front of him by diamonding off the corner Reed was trying a block pass on Stewart at the same time IF either one of them had waited till another corner they would not of crashed and thats racing.
