Yep but you can go around on the trail just south of the road if you're driving a truck and trailer.

Yep, everyone still getting stuck. My buddy and 4 others got stuck for 5 hours over New Years.
Gordons is getting soft also by the entrance. Really need some rain down there.

They got over 3" today-basically the total average rainfall in Yuma in one day. Let's hope it firms things up.

I don't think we have to worry about get stuck in soft sand on the road for a long while with that amount of rain.

By the way, the actual name for the road into the tower at Ogilby is "Sidewinder Rd."
SRMX
Any reports of the sand firming up at Gordon's after the rain on the 21st?

OGILBY ROAD -- YOUR FEE MONEY AT WORK
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) started work on the BLM portion of Ogilby Road (just east of the tower) on Monday Feb. 8, 2010.

The goal is to make a one-lane passable dirt road over the soft spot by Friday afternoon, Feb. 12.

They will work on it all week as traffic allows. If too many RVs and OHVs arrive to the area thereby causing unsafe heavy equipment work, the BLM will have to stop before Friday.

Our hope is that they will finish before then.

To help the BLM to meet their Friday afternoon, Feb. 12 deadline, Ogilby campers are asked to hold off entering the area as long as possible on President's Day weekend.

Anyone been through since the road upgrades or very recently?
Hows the soft spot?
D.O.N.E.
The last time I was there (not even 2 weeks) it wasn't bad. I wasn't praying under my breath like I was the beginning of last season. It's soft, but nowhere near where it got last year. Heading out again this saturday 25cheers.gif
