I see this quite a bit on some sandcars some with windshields and some without. Some friends said if the light bar was at the front edge right on top of the windshield it cause a lot of glare when dust gets on the windshield. I'm just seeing if this is true or are there other reasons? i want to do a windshield on my rhino and add a light bar, but i dont want to have a glare issue.

Alot of race cars are like this too. There will be some glare on the windshield, and you can also get reflection up off the hood, especially in a truck or something with a big high hood. Usually if you put it in the front, you can put a shield of sorts under the lights, to block the light shining down, without affecting the light shining out. But this is mostly for race cars, and may look a little weird on a duner, but will work.

I don't know if it's correct, but I have heard that pushing light bars back like that also helps with light projection when going over bumps/whoops. Supposedly the light is centered on the truck it experiences less movement up and down.
