I am looking at two Rv. One is a 1991 fleetwood american eagle deisel pusher for $25,000 without slides. the other is a 2000 mountain high residency v10 for 39,900 with slides. Both are in great shape the deisel has 91000 miles and the v10 has 14,000 miles. what do you guys think is the better deal?

What engine and tranny are in the diesel...it will make a difference. Most of the older diesels ran pretty small motors, although the American Eagle is a mid level coach, it might run a 275 cummings or 300 cat.

The american eagle was owned by two racing team owers. The newest owner painted it with new graphics for a new rig look. very will taken care of for a 18 year old coach.

The 18 year old coach has been used while the newer one only got driven 1,400 per year meaning I would be more worried about the coach part than the drive train. the 18 year old one has probaly had stuff that you will be repairing on the newer coach replaced allready.

I don't know the motor size. I have been told a six speed would be better. Most of the time it will be pulling nothing. The other times it will pull a flat trailer with a rhino.

Well, if the interior of both coaches meet your needs, then I'd probably recommend the diesel. The American Eagle is a great coach. I know nothing about Mountain High, in fact I've never heard of them.
Generally speaking, DP (diesel pushers) are made on commercial chassis, have air brakes, air bags, a wider foot print, all of which equals a much better ride then any gas moho...and of course they are much more capable pullers. Plus you are saving quite a bit of money.
Post some pics if you can

I am going to be putting up a 2007 Sea Breeze for sale for my Father shortly.
If you want a new coach at a used price you will not beat it.
32ft (33actual) Chevy Workhorse Chassis with an Allison transmission and transmission brake
Dual slides, upgraded 22.5 inch wheels and tires with Alcoa wheels.
Dome Satellite on top, leather interior with Caribbean theme.
The coach still has the plastic on the floor.
Upgraded Marquis gold generator
50 amp
Dual AC
Corian counters
etc etc..
Only used for local camp grounds with a couple desert trips less the 3,000 miles so it is NEW!
Probably go up for sale for about 60K give or take.
Let me know if you are interested.

I picked up this one in 1000 Oaks, CA at Conejo Wholesale RV. They are a very good small dealer family owned and very nice. They prices I think are very reasonable and low mileage on all of their coaches. I got this one for $27,000.00 OTD and it has 59889 miles on it. They sold four coaches on Saturday when we were there.

A bit late but, the 8.3 Cummins is a solid motor. I had a work truck (35k lbs) and ran mine back and forth San Diego to El Centro every day, sold it running great at 300k. I would take the 300 Cummins over a 330 Cat ANY DAY, not for performance but because of maintenance cost. Good choice in coach, hope you really enjoy it!

She is fun to drive and runs like a champ. We took it into a truck shop in Colton today for a good inspection and fix and front air leak and a front leveling leg is leaking. Does anyone know a good RV shop around Riverside/San Bernardino with cheap prices? We have a small water leak somewhere by the water heater and the air heater pilot is not working. We smelled gas last time we tried to start the heater. I want it running perfect for the 4th of July.
