I sent flashpoint an text asking if he can post it. I think he still has it on his puter. My buddy took a picture from the bottom of the hill... looks like I was 40' in the air!!!

I must have watched that video on that other site 50 times.

Ridiculous jump off the top.... looked like a snow ski jumper with a cushion of air under the car carrying it farther and farther down the hill!!

with all this talk it would have been nice to see a video! LOL

Here's the problem................Doug Dixon shot the video, at that time he was working for DB.com and posted it on their site. Back then it was no problem to view but impossible to download because,well its DB.com. Doug has since lost or taped over the video of the jump and it no longer exists on DB.com from what I can tell.I do have a picture of the jump.

At this point he is about to land. Near the end of the jump the rail caught air under it and seemed to float another 20ft it did indeed look like an Olympic long jump skier......we paced it off and from the top of the hill to rear wheels landing was 125ft..........................It was a WICKED jump!

Thats quite a buggy jump, 125ft and stayed flat and level, obviously the big girl^^ from earlier in this thread didn't ride the whole way. lmao! dang thats alot of uuuggggllllly

I can tell you guys that jump looks 1/64th of the jump REALLY was down Olds. Holy s**T! he did his test run and said he was gonna jump it til something broke. So a few passes on a day where there were ZERO people @ Olds, SlowerMommy goes up the hill from the launch point, freaking comes haulin (_|_) down in 3rd gear and TAKES THE EFF OFF FLYING! We were all like HOLY MEFFEN SHIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTT! He floated forever, and did break something that time, his cooler strap, which says something about Funcos.

As for the Flame car, I was there most of the video shoots, and the big jump was the Olds Double back in the day when it was a 90 foot gap with a step up landing. That car was amazing, rode like a dream, fast as hell, too bad the builder was such a otherwise he could be a rich man. He knew how to build some awesome cars that worked amazing but could not run the $$ side of things...

For anyone who thinks Tom's jump down Olds is just ok , I challenge you to take your rail.....hit third gear wide open and fly off the top of Olds...................most of you wouldnt have the balls..........the rest..........I want to see the video!

I was standing there.. It was a launch and then just plain old air time for a long time..
Tom had more sand in his mouth then there was on the ground..

Thought he was freaking nuts to pop 3rd like that.. He went straight out and "sailed" down.. Front lifted towards the end (probably should have hit the brakes ) and that caused the front to 'slap" down making his ice chest break loose.

Those were some fun times back then.. That little lip and bowl are still there but not as much..

We were talking about that this morning, Justin drove the holy piss out of that car, and Kerin and Wayno drove it alot too, and I don't recall it ever really breaking. I think tranny went out once, but it was a 2D. It was one of the best riding cars I have ever been in! Doug was driving it at Olds once and some dude pulled up next to him wanting to race up the hill. Well that isn't his buggy but Kerin said GO FOR IT! So they line up, flame car destroys that guy thru the whoops, it ate them up and the other guy (I think was a Sand Limo or Tatum not sure) was bouncing around like a pogo stick. He gave up and turned back about 1/2 way up Olds.

There were some pics of a guy launching it off of china wall and landing on the bottom ..now thats some serious webos.

that justin not only could build a nice car , but could definetly drive ! , i love watching the videos of him driving that car , i remember the first weekend i saw the green two seater and the flame car at gordons . i was in awe . tim

Guess you had to be there to REALLY appreciate the major speed, height, and how long this jump was. I have never seen anyone launch 3rd gear off the top of Olds before or after this.

weaze will do it. take him to the hill. and he never wants to stop riding when everyone is on a brake.
