the jet is located in your carberuater. First, do you know where that is? Jetting a carb can be tough. Do you have the jet specs?

shovel boy..
here's a great site for you:
http://www.eskimo.com/~daddog/repair/cams/index.htmDaddog posts quite frequently at yfzcentral and bluetraxx. If you search this section for some of Chuy's posts, he has some very good pictures as well.
There is nothing to be afraid of...just take your time, work slowly, in a clean, well lit place. Do plenty of reading so you understand what you are doing, and you'll be fine. If this is your first time, you might find a service manual very helpful. If I recall, a close search on bluetraxx might lead you to some scans of at least parts of this manual that may have some info to help you too.
If you are anywhere near san diego, you are more than welcome to bring your quad by, and I will show you how to jet it. Takes me about 7.65 minutes to do a jet, and needle change on a yfz nowadays.

I didnt know how to jet anything, still really dont know, but I managed to get my YFZ pretty close, took about 20+ tries, but it hauls ass, doesnt hesitate, or pop, it just wont idle when cold, and sometimes stalls during rides. probably going to mess with it over the summer or ???

What are you jetted at right now for main and pilot? What clip, and what needle? Also, try turning your idle up a little. Might help you.

45 pilot, 175 main, 1.5- 2 turns out on the air screw is where the bikes I have worked on ran best. That is with pipe, and k&n with no lid, and cam mod. I think you should try turning your idle up a little, and turn the air screw back in 1/2 turn or so. Will probably help the stalling. I had the same problem when I went from the 175/45 to the 180/48. Also, you might want to step down one size on your main for the warmer temps. I went down to a 178 main recently, and the bike seemed to run a little faster.

will do, I will see which main is in my tool box either the 175 or 172, so I know which one is in the bike, and will play with the airscrew a bit and turn up the idle, I am leaving Thurs a.m. so I can mess with it before the rest of our group gets there, it will give me something to do since I will be the first one out and am driving alone, Thanks
Are you going to 13.5? If so, I will be there, and we can compare notes.
