So my 1 piece (used to be one piece) nose cone needs some fiberglass repair. I want to remove it. It looks like a bunch of screws around the perimiter, and drill out the rivits at the ladder. Any other words of advice? Helpfull hints?

Before you go to the trouble, and I mean trouble, can you pull all the fiberglass back into place without removing it? Even if you have to screw a wooden strap to it to help you do this, it's alot easier than pulling that front cap. By pulling it off, you're gonna release all the attatch points, which will make it a nightmare getting it back on. Grind all the gelcoat and paint off before starting any fiberglass repairs.

I've worked on fiberglass in the USAF for 20 years, and I worked on RV's for about 9 years, I have knowledge and skills.

That said, post some pics and let's see the damage, I might have a better idea for ya.

But seriously, post up what you have, I bet BBTank is right. If it does have to come off, I saw someone on here updated to the new style WW caps ( assuming yours might be WW or Ragen). I bet its cheaper once you factor in the bodywork, labor, paint, hassle, etc...

Mongo,
Thanks for the vote of support, but I'm not betting I'm right. I know I'm right, I worked at Beaudry RV, and I've seen this before. Do anything you can to keep from pulling that front cap off. Hell, bring it to me and I'll fix it. I've got waaaaaaaayyyy too much to do, but that's how serious I am about it.
