Full Version: My Z With Black Rims
Ok i did a quick photoshop of my Z with black rims, what do you guyus think? Should i get them powder coated? or should I paint them black gloss 5 coats then 3 or 4 coats clear? and i i was to get them PC'ed how much would that cost?

Looks good but i don't think you can powder coat aluminum rims....you can only
anodize aluminum.

Serious? i have no clue what you cand do to aluminum, there is no way im getting them anodized, it isnt that great, why couldnt you get them PC'ed? can i spray paint?
hey shovel boy i will post a pic of the one above with the regular rims, i did it on a want-a-be photoshop program and it was hard to do it, but if ya can do it sure, dont forget to get both rear rims, thx

Why does everybody want black rims now? Too trendy for me. I'd rather have lightweight polished aluminum.
These are my stock rims, i have my paddles on polished itp's which i like, but i also like the look of the blackrims

Not true. You can basicly powder coat anything. Look at buggy side panels.
yeah thats what ithought, you can pc anything that is metal, o well i think i will spray paint it with like 5-6 coats of black and then 3-6 coats of clear

It's that street racer look. Like the guys who pull the hubcaps off their stock Honda wheels to have black rims
. Don't paint them Josh I think they will look like crap with uneven paint then when they chip and you try to touch them up you will still see the chips. Go with the powder coat. Go to Harbor Freight and get their powder coat kit and do it in your moms oven before she gets back from Washington. 
Yeah i dont want to taste PC in my food, how much does powder coating cost? i might get some 250ex rear rims for my Z for free:) so i might try it on them and see how they hold up,
i think your stock rims look better...
