I have some stock LT80 tires that I want to buff to look like Mohawks. I figure secure the quad on a stand give it some gas and shave em down, any suggestion on what to shave them with?
SHOCKER
Now that wouldnt work unless you wanted the rear tires to look like mohawks, i saw one of them tire groovers some where before, i think it was in dirtwheels or something like that but it was like 80 bucks, do you have 2 front sets of tires? just sand em down
SHOCKER
oh i got it use your angle grinder then sand

I would put the front tires on the rear While I buff them rolleyes.gif . I might try the grinder but I predict a lot of smoke. I have 4 front tires to practice on.

Oh yeah huh, I use the grinder when i was cutting the bead off that odyssey rim and i had to go through alot of rubber and it smoked alot

Try a box cutter with brand new blades. Some rubber cuts real nice with a new razor. Cut the knobs off and sand douwn the leftover.

I did the 5 Rib tires on the front of my rail.

Used a fresh razor blade to pre-trim then followed up with a Die Grinder & 50 grit disc to shape them.
It goes pretty quick and you'll will get more rubber shavings than smoke.
