They now make better machines in China than the old rhino now.

Railings on the bed, few other odds and ends.
Regardless of those who knock on them, I definitely put mine to work and it has treated me well and never left me stranded. I'm happy.
It wouldn't be my first choice today, however. There are far better options.
If I needed the bed/towing capacity of a larger vehicle, it'd be an arctic cat
If I wanted a go-kart on steroids, RZR S

I am pretty disappointed. I think they should use the rest of their motors in their powersports line and add a snowmobile, PWC or motorcycle engine.

As I've said on a few forums, I'm sure Yamaha would love to be kicking Polaris' a$$ up and down the industry highway, but unfortunately, thanks to the sue-happy consumers out there, they have been fighting a bunch of rediculous lawsuits and have had their hands tied for a couple of years now, while Polaris and Kawasaki have been free to mimic and improve upon what Yamaha created to begin with. Lucky for Polaris, the Rhino witch-hunt has kept them flying low under prosecuting attorney's radar and they have been free to pump out whatever they feel like making.
Looking at Yamaha's history of making some of the baddest machines in the industry, I can't wait until they are finally free to make whatever machine they WANT to make - because I will no doubt be shoving people out of my way in the line to buy one! Let's just hope they can continue their positive legal momentum.......

do a search on montana tractors look at their utility vehicle. i have seen these up close as i am adealer.they look to be very very close to a rhino with little difference.we are just phasing out of the tractor biz so never got involved.but their pricing difference was insane, way lower. mabe you all could investigate and inform the rest of us.but id swear its the same.

Winner - Winner, Chicken Dinner... My SxS is a Yamaha, if I am ever lucky enough to get another, it will be a Yamaha!! For what they have had to go through to bring us this segment, they deserve my support and even if you don't buy a Yamaha they deserve your support too!!!!

I'm not too sure that Yamaha will even continue offering the Rhino much longer. The lawsuits have rocked the company to its foundation. Couple the lawsuits with the recession and Yamaha Motor Company (Japan) lost over 2 billion dollars last year!
Yamaha Motor US just had its annual employee meeing to disclose the results of the US operation. It was a very sad tale. More layoff's are in the future.
The drain on Yamaha is staggering. To a point that I'm told of at least one higher up suggesting that it would be in Yamaha's best interest to cease production of the Rhino and file for Chapter 11 to rid themselves of the liability of all the asshat lawsuits.
Other employees tell me they are hearing the days of Rhino are very limited.
Time will tell if any of this is true.

NOP, not even that is new. The 09 Sport edition is identical to that 2011.
My 09 "sport Edition" came with bed rails, fender flares, carbon fiber center steering wheel deal, nice stainless looking shifter knob and the LED rear tail lights w/reverse light.. ITS Identical !! I was soo hoping for something with a bigger power plant ! Oh well I still like my 06 and 09 , served me well thus far....
You can see the rails and flares in pic..

Yamaha is loaded with lawsuits... but are winning some of them too. Every one they win helps win the next. I think Yamaha was expecting this when they made the Rhino... but to be honest, if they don't keep up with demand they are going to loose out on their customer base. They lost a lot of sales to the Teryx just because it had a bigger motor.
As a yamaha owner... I am disappointed with the lack of changes.

I understand this to be true as well from insiders.
So what was up with all those phone "spy" pics floating around a few months ago showing a 4 seat with power steering ??
