my kids quad doesn't want to start..its in the electronics..more exact..in the starter or switch....you turn the key..hit the start button..nothing...keep pushing the start button real quick..and it starts turning over...I am thinking the solenoid/relay..the bike has all of a suddent burned out 3 5amp fuses in the last ride to....I haven't spent the time to look at it yet, and feel comfortable I will figure it out....
please, no opinions.....if you have had this problem and KNOW what it is, can you share with me? Save me the time checking things that I don't need to....thanks in advance.....

I work on five lt80's for our group and have found many different problems for this. The first is if your fuel petdork* does not restrict the flow of fuel when the bike is off your carb will become full fuel thus causing the cylinder to become full of fuel and will hydrolock your piston and will cause the hard start. The next one is a bad or dragging starter. The easiest way to check for both is to pull the spark plug and try starting the bike. IF the engine still has a hard time turning over then you have a bad starter. If your bike shoots out a geyser of fuel your carb needs a rebuild and your fuel petdork* needs to be replaced. I had to replace my petdork* on a two year old bike. I rebult my own carb. It s not that difficult to do. Just take your time when you take it apart. Hope this helps.

there should be a button under the right rear fender. push that button in and it should start. that is what happened to me a couple of months ago. after about an hour and buying a new relay that is what fixed mine.

what 97banshee said i had the same thing a month ago. there is a breaker button there. what year is yours? I don't think it is on all years. The bikes effinbees77 has are older than mine (2001) and his don't have it. good luck

You have a short in your wiring...that's why the fuses keep blowing. Strip the bike's plastics, and check the entire wiring system.

A bad ground or short will cause the starter issue, as you keep stabbing the button, you are probably shaking the bike, causing an intermittent contact.

A plugged fuel petdork* will not cause a fuse to blow out on any bike made

Starter Relay, I had the problem on my 89. Hit the button and the fuse blew.

Luckly, I had my other sons 90 LT80 sitting next my other sons 89 and I switched the relay and it kicked over no problem "O"..

But you may want to strip the pastic and verify wiring as well..

Worse case is an awesome oppertunity to clean places you dont usually get too..

Good luck..
