How much on average does a 7.0 gen burn in 1 hr

Underload, couldn't be more than 3/4 of a gallon? My 5.5 underload is about 1/2 a gallon an hour

I dont have a 7.0, but i go thru a gallon an hour with the ac on full blast. with no ac, it lasts forever...

1 GPH per hour average.

The amount of fuel that your genset uses in a hour depends on alot of factors, altitude, load, gas or diesel, if gas how fresh is the oil and the tune-up, how fresh is the fuel itself?

A 7.0 with a light load should use about 1/2 GPH, with appliances in use, and an A/C or 2 you just might be a bit over 1 GPH. A good average is about 1 GPH. I ain't trying to be scientific or nothing, just let you know what I learned while working on motorhomes

Thanks all for responces , generally I was thinking 1 gal per hour
Now at $3 a gal and 4-6 hrs a day I think it may put a dent in solar $

Have a 4K that uses .7 gallons an hour or so. But that's way up fro what it was.

2 years ago It ran almost 45 hours straight in the triple digit weather of august with the AC running full blast (single 13.5K BTU ) along with my microwave and such on the side. In that time it used about 16 gallons. About .4 gallons an hour.

I'm pretty sure it's full of sand since everything else on it is brand new, gonna take it apart at the season end.

I am seeing more and more rigs including mine with a Honda 2000. They run all day and/or night on less than a gallon. Now I only turn on my house generator for cooking or air conditioning. The investment in a Honda is worth every penny and extends the hours on the house generator before over haul.

If you are running heavy current for 4-6 hrs a day, it won't matter if you have solar or not. Solar will not run heavy current (A/C's and the like).

If you are running light load, your fuel consumption will be a lot less. Example: you are running the A/C with the gen and using 1 gal/hr. If you turn off the A/C and just run small electronics, your fuel consumption might drop to just over a quart an hour. This changes the economics significantly.

That said, economics is not the only factor. Having no noise for the majority of those 4-6 hours can be a big deal (it is for me). Also, there is wear and tear on the gen that you have to take care of eventually.
