Pizza dough (I use Trader Joe's pre-made dough, regular, herb and garlic, and whole wheat)
Sauce (canned if you're in the dunes)
All the toppings prepared before ya leave and bagged up
I use a 22 1/2" grill when I'm at the desert/dunes
Light the grill for indirect cooking, either on 2 sides of the grill, or pile the coals on 1 side, I do split coals with the grate to hold the carcoal inside
Take the dough and split/cut into 3-6 pieces, depends on how big ya want them. I do about 4 most times. A big pizza is hard to handle on the grill
cook the dough untill done on one side, flip it over and cook for just a min.
Keep the undercooked side of the dough facing down and top the done side with sauce, cheese, sausage, pepperoni, whatever ya like
Return that pizza to the grill right over the hot area for a few mins., then move to the indirect heat area. You could do as many as you can fit at a time
Put the lid on the grill for about 4-5 mins., you'll know when it's ready, and
VIOLA, you got hot and fresh pizza in the dunes. Crispy, fresh, hot, gooey, probably the best pizza you'll ever have. Well, until the next time that you do it again, in the sand
Keep cooking, topping, serving until it's all gone
