This goes on even with the dog in the next room.

Our two cats do the same thing to our Akita, soon as she leaves her bed or a rug the cats lay on it and rub around on it to transfer their scent. If she's asleep on the floor somewhere in the house they will lay as close as they can to her. "Why can't we all just get along"

Haha. We had a Siamese/Calico mix who would sleep pretty much on the dog.

so then would this be considered "when the master is away"???
