Okay juniors here you go your own build thread, but first the rules.
1. Junior most be the builder of the ATC70 and/or supervised by an adult or have at least done 50% of the build. Adults building ATC70 for a child is not considered a junior build, juniors must be part of the build process. Basic tear down and peaced back together is acceptable as 50%.
2. One post per junior builder, this means that you can only post your build once, if you aren’t done you can update your post with the progress of the build then add a post stating build updated so we can go back and read on the build progress.
3. Give credit where credit is due, if you have had work done such as parts/paint/chrome/powder coating/motor work/electrical work, etc and want to give props to the individual please do so. If you have picture of you doing the work please post those as well.
4. Age limit, that’s right guys and gals there is an age limit, junior means junior ,maximum age is 16 years old.

This will help in getting a head count of all that will be participating in the Junior Build category. If you plan on showing in the junior builder category but don’t want to post your build please PM me or SuperStar70 so we have an accurate count of participants.

Okay juniors you have your assignment get with your parents and get your post together and post it thumb.gif

Thank you FTF for the builder banner...

ROCKSTAR 70
Whats up guys! I'm Evan (aka Rockstar 70) and I am building my first 70 with my dad Robert (aka Dirtcrew3). I am 10 years old. My bike is a 1984. We started the build a little over a month ago. I already have a build thread started. My build thread But I will update this thread also.

I have taken my bike apart and got it ready for powdercoating. My dad is letting me choose everything on the bike. My bike will be Black and Blue. My uncle gave me a new tool set for christmas so I am using all of my own tools.
My dad is teaching me alot of things while I build my 70. I am trying hard to get it done for the junior builder class. He is helping me by getting me all the parts I need. He is rebuilding my motor (Lifan 110 electric start) and doing all the electrical for me.

How it looked when I got it.

Tonight I got a little more work done.

My dad was gonna rebuild my motor but he decided that I should rebuild it because this is my build. I got my motor used from GITRDONE and it had low compression so we are putting new rings in the motor. We tore the motor down and my dad taught me how to use a cylinder hone. I did the hone job by myself. Then we decided to take the side covers off the motor so they can be powder coated. One of the last things we did was I painted the head black to match the side covers. It was getting late so we stopped.

UPDATE!!!

We got some more work done. I honed my motor and assembeled the top end of the motor. I took a little longer than expected to get all of the parts powdercoated but now I have all of the parts back from powder coating and my seat back from Quality Atuto Upholstery. I got a set of beadlock rings from OSoto-Gari. My dad did all the welding and i got them back today from powdercoating. Check out the picture of all the parts and looks like a really cool jigsaw puzzle, doesnt it? got allot of work do do this weekend but I will be ready!

I started my build about two years ago, and after the last regatta I decided to get cracking on it. So I have stripped the frame, taken apart the whole motor, put in the high pressure oil pump(from FNG2moto), sterdy product performance clutch, sand blasted two parts to get powder coated, the points, took out and put in a new piston, put in the 88 kit (from bugsey), put the motor back together, put the motor in the frame, and put the powder coated parts (from loran night scaping) back together, purchased the sterdy under exhaust, points done by troy krum, purchased fiberglass fenders (from pipeplayer and wicked good), seat done by my uncle, traded thumb throttle for quarter turn twist throttle (from tiggajoe), purchased all new bearings, new brake shoes, stainless steel allen heads to the case, clutch cover, stater cover powder coated to match frame, custom made stainless steel number plate, and brake cover, power button, stock spark plug remover (from T.D.), chrome valve covers, chrome oil pump cover, chrome head cover (from Dr. ATV), purchased tank, could'nt find a seet bracket so i took my dad's.

One of the coolest features of this build is the custom sticker kit custom made by peewee the pinstriper. Preasently waiting on fenders, seat, and gastank will post picks when finnished

Devil Child
Hey guys its Devil Child. I am 9 years old. I bought my 70 with my own money. Mike bought my new plastic but I paid for everything else so I had to save up all my money and spend it on my new 70. I started building my 1985 70 at the end of last season. I took everything off of it then me and Mike painted the frame, the rims and the tank. We got an 88 kit put in my engine (thanks to our friend Roy) and then put it all back together. Mike bought new orange plastic and we put that on too. When I sit here thinking about what to write I think about the great things that happened when me and Mike worked on my bike so hopefully it will have a great run. mes.gif

FTF- Josh great build bikes looks sweet, I know it takes some time to do a build and that seems to be one thing we are all short on. I like the color skem and I am looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep a positive spirit this build will soon be over and as expected there will always be a need for more horse power laughing.gif Its great to see you doing the work, I bet you learned allot about builds. One lesson learned is it takes Time and allot of $$$$. Keep this post up to date on your progress.

Shay great intro and information about your build I think its great that you purchased the bike with your own money and took the time to save and invest in your ATC 70. I am feeling the Orange and liking it thumb.gif
I have had the true pleasure of cruising the compound with you and I have to say it is a super cool feeling to ride something you invested your time and money into. And yes I am definitely going to read your build thread again.
I look forward to seeing you at this Years Tres Regatta Shay hello.gif

Thanks Bustin-bs'. Yes this will be my first time building a motor. since I was real little, I've been in the garage with my dad. All of my parts are back from powder coating now after this weekends glamis trip we will be finishing the bike.
Got to go guys. Time for me to get ready for school.

All you guys bikes look great! thumb.gif

Shay - Good job on building your bike. I really like the Orange. You give these boys a run for their money.
FTF - Your bike looks cool. Soak up all the info you dad is teaching you. That way when you are older, You can use that knowledge to build your first sandcar!

Its always better to do your own work that way whatever you are building is truly yours!

As I watch all three kids this weekend all I could do was smile. They were all so proud of their bikes and the work they did. The morning of the regatta the excitement was crazy. The kids were cleaning their bikes and ready to get it started, to put it in one word...AWESOME!!

Bustin' Bs, SS70 and Tres went above and beyond to make this category very special. I want to thank everyone that helped them with getting this all set up, I also want to thank O Soto and Jim and Melissa for the medallion and the loaded tool box! All three of these kids were winners because of all the time and effort that went into this! Thank you all so much!

I also want to thank the judges for going out of their way to tell each kid how special their bike was and how proud they were of them, I know for sure it meant a lot to Shay for them to go out of their way to walk up to her and tell her that. She was beaming from all the compliments.

Josh...congrats kid. For two long years you worked your arse off to get this bike perfect and let me tell you, you did a beautiful job. Your hard work and dedication paid off cuz most kids would have given up. I am so proud of you for winning!!!

Shay and Evan you both did an awesome job on your bikes. I am very proud of both of you for having a goal and getting it done. It's never easy to build a bike and you both did a beautiful job. Congrats, you both deserve it!

Again, thank you so much to everyone that made this possible for these kids. Hopefully this will inspire more kids to build their own. I guarantee it is worth the blood, sweat and tears when it is finally finished...just the time spent with your kids and watching them working hard on their own bike is priceless!

clap.gif to the junior builders they came out with some of the cleanest 70’s people took notice in them and how they prided themselves on their builds. It takes allot to enter in a category and asked to be judged for your work. All three J-Builders did an excellent job!
A big thanks to a few people-
PeeWee for the grand prize—
Custom pull start decal
Custom T-Shirt
OSG for making some of the coolest ATC-BLING--- this was a big hit! Let me tell you I heard nothing but positive complements on these. And for the future Junior builders out there, take a yander at these—

JimandMelissa for the tool boxes, wait I meant fully loaded tool boxes. That was a surprise for all the kids. Now they have their own tools to work on their 70 with. I seen the look on their faces when I handed those tool boxes out. And let me tell you it was priceless.
Another thank you goes out to the parents of the Junior builders. For taking the time to spend with the kids in working on their 70’s. And having faith in me for being open and honest as possible. Because of you and the kids this category was a success and I am looking forward to next years J-Builders.
One more thank you goes to Me’s toy for tossing this idea out there. If it wasn’t for her idea this category would have never been created.
In my eyes all three Junior Builders are winners, thank you for making this category memorable to me…
