As I watch all three kids this weekend all I could do was smile. They were all so proud of their bikes and the work they did. The morning of the regatta the excitement was crazy. The kids were cleaning their bikes and ready to get it started, to put it in one word...AWESOME!!

Bustin' Bs, SS70 and Tres went above and beyond to make this category very special. I want to thank everyone that helped them with getting this all set up, I also want to thank O Soto and Jim and Melissa for the medallion and the loaded tool box! All three of these kids were winners because of all the time and effort that went into this! Thank you all so much!

I also want to thank the judges for going out of their way to tell each kid how special their bike was and how proud they were of them, I know for sure it meant a lot to Shay for them to go out of their way to walk up to her and tell her that. She was beaming from all the compliments.

Josh...congrats kid. For two long years you worked your arse off to get this bike perfect and let me tell you, you did a beautiful job. Your hard work and dedication paid off cuz most kids would have given up. I am so proud of you for winning!!!

Shay and Evan you both did an awesome job on your bikes. I am very proud of both of you for having a goal and getting it done. It's never easy to build a bike and you both did a beautiful job. Congrats, you both deserve it!

Again, thank you so much to everyone that made this possible for these kids. Hopefully this will inspire more kids to build their own. I guarantee it is worth the blood, sweat and tears when it is finally finished...just the time spent with your kids and watching them working hard on their own bike is priceless!

clap.gif to the junior builders they came out with some of the cleanest 70’s people took notice in them and how they prided themselves on their builds. It takes allot to enter in a category and asked to be judged for your work. All three J-Builders did an excellent job!
A big thanks to a few people-
PeeWee for the grand prize—
Custom pull start decal
Custom T-Shirt
OSG for making some of the coolest ATC-BLING--- this was a big hit! Let me tell you I heard nothing but positive complements on these. And for the future Junior builders out there, take a yander at these—

Since I we ran out of time and wasn't able to finish posting I figured I would post some of the last pics of Evan finishing his build. Go check out post 3 for the last pics.

Here is a couple of the finished bike in action. The number plate was his number from the races.

I am so incredibly proud of you Evan for doing such a great job on your bike! I had fun time watching you build it. It came out AWSOME!
Bustin-bs
Even that is one beautiful build you did, i have to tell you allot of things on this bike caught my eye. The fact that you did the wheel rings on the inside of the rear wheels was sweet and those decals are tight. Matter of fact when you have time take some closer pics of those decals and post them for all of to drull over. And that front tire, man it is so sweet. That is on my to get list, i have to have one. Great event and i had a great time watching you and your dad hit the track the last day.

Evan, THAT is an amazing bike...I looked at all the junior builds and yours was definitely aces in my book...I knew it would be close between the boys and you should feel very proud. I am glad I was not one of the judges because THAT would have been a tough call. Your bike was perfect if you ask me. I didn't get to meet you so I apologize for missing you because I would have enjoyed talking about your build. Hopefully we can meet at the next Regatta.

All the kids builds were great and I wish I could have done more for the Juniors. I talked to Chris before the Regatta about some donation prizes but we ran out of time to make it work this year. My wife and I were introduced to Me's Toy and her daughter Shay at the Regatta...Anna told me I would love her build because we both love orange and Shay really liked the work I did on some of the other bikes but ran out of money so she had to spray paint her bike orange. Shay then informed me that she would have liked to do something with "M&M's"...I told her that would be tough because or copyright laws. She then said "Well we could do something with the Minnesota Vikings"...that just melted my heart because I have been a Minnesota Viking fan since I was about her age. This little girl had me in the palm of her hand...So my wife and I decided RIGHT THEN that she would get a special set of plastics covered by K2 Concepts.

I cannot wait to see what her little scheme will be and I assure you my wife and I will have just as much fun helping her get her build to the next level.

My only regret is that I cannot donate a set of plastics for every junior that entered because all the kids earned it BUT Chris and I are working on some prizes for the next Junior Build...should be good times...

you are all right i seriously thought Evan would have been a winner and I know and he Knows he is a winner

Hey everybody, I just to say thanks for all of the complements for my bike. It was a lot of fun building my 70 and riding it at the regatta. In the junior build I had some really hard competition from Shay and Josh. Both of there bikes were were really cool and original.

I want to give a special thanks to Bustin-B's and superstar 70 for organizing the junior build, Osoto-Gari for making our award medals, and JimandMelisa for the cool tool boxes and tools.

I had a blast at the regatta (thanks Tres) and cant wait for next year. thumb.gif

Superstar: My dad had a sticker guy cut out the letters and numbers. It is just a black sticker with the letters put on top that me and all the guys in my camp put on in Osoto-Gari's trailer. Ill try to get closer pics of my tank and fender stickers to show everyone.

There is nothin better than puttin an event like this together, and watching it shine. That is what makes you folks so wonderful. It looks like the Young Gunners are one step ahead, and next year will be even more competative and creative. Hot darn, Slappy gotta dance...
