Thank you very much Emil.
It looks awesome. Thanks for talking me out of my idea.

Looks great Bert! Seeing yours made me rethink my fuel tank mounting, to underneath, I like it!

Cheers!

Yeah it turned out real nice.
I was worried about seeing that ugly tank but Don told me there would be sheet metal over it and so there it is.
Mike330R
Not much to see today. Don says it will have suspension next week.

Better hit that motor with some WD-40! icon_wink.gif

Looks like a Buick 3.8. I just looked back, and I guess you already stated that.
lincster
Outboard hubs..... very nice, you don't see too many people run those. I have them on my car and love them!!!!! Service is so much easier. Plus you can run a longer axle.
lincster
Go 3" bypass in the rears now. With the extra weight of the Albins, outboard hubs etc, you will want it. I wish I could fit 3" bypass.

I cant wait to see it with suspension. That block is perfectly seasoned I dont know what you are talking about.

Here are some pics of the engine I am getting ready for it.
4340 steel internally balanced crank with billet center main caps.
4340 H beam rods with ARP bolts
.030 over J&E pistons
nasty small block specs sraptor.gif hydraulic roller with roller shaff mounted rockers that should move a little air
fully ported and polished heads with stainless valves.ported and coated intake manifold.
just a little Turbonetics HP70bb ......should make it up Comp hill I hope.

The longer axle is nice but I just want the strength and serviceability.

I know.Don and I talked about it but its not going to be that heavy of a car.
I think it will be fine.

That sounds very similar to how I had my street car set up. I only used a T66bb turbo and it made 525hp to the wheels on a conservative tune up. I love those engines.

^^ really whats your setup?
I am in the process of tracking down a Stage II motor.I have a couple leads but people wont part with them unless its big money.

I have built a couple of cars with the sieries 2 supercharged 3.8 and I promise you will not be dissatisfied. All of them we ran a little smaller blower pullie for 11 lbs and it woke them up. check 3800performance.com you will be suprised at the parts available.
fusionoffroad
I missed the pics of the small block. albins and a steel block motor if you have ever ridden in a car with 3" bypasses you should opt for them now. My 2 cents

We have built a couple cars with that engine. One of them we ended up getting 480 on 19 psi to the tire.It ran awesome. My uncles car even runs the auto transaxle. We swapped the chain and ended up with a lower final drive. It works really well.

My engine should be right at 700 but we will see.

Yes, I have race scales. It weighed 2,923 full of liquids and a small tool bag ready to go.
Doc Savage
Sweet Cheese and Rice!! Thats one sweet motor. Make it up Comp Hill, heck I'd be more concerned on how high you launch off the top, you may be the first SCU to enter the "space race". tongue.gif
sanddunesaddict
Here is that puny turbo I was telling you guys about.
I think I need bigger

Who Makes the outboard hubs, are they the summer brother's?
sanddunesaddict
These particular ones are ADS.
I am pretty sure they are a copy of Summer Brothers.Just like all the midboards are copies also
sanddunesaddict
SCU here I come!!!!!
I am going to pick up my roller tomorrow!!!
He is a sneek peak.I will get some good pics tomorrow.
Mike330R
Mite as well leave now since you won't sleep anyways.

Also it looks like someone is trying to steal your seat!!
sanddunesaddict
Well its home and now the fun begins.
I have to thank Don for all he has done for me and building such a beautiful piece.
I am hoping to have it done in September and then make it down for the SCU regatta!!!!
Of course I havent driven it yet as it isnt done but I dont think I will have any issues with SCU's work or art.

THANK YOU DON FOR THE AWESOME PRODUCT!!!!!

NATTY13
Looking good...congrats
sanddunesaddict
Custom length tank with Dons sump welded on.It should be about 18 gallons!!!

I supplied Don with ADS outboard hubs which he did not want to use. They were a PITA and made him go out of his comfort zone but he was up to the challenge and they came out awesome. I think we might see more of these from him.
He got 21.5 inches of travel and still has more left if we wanted,he thinks he could get 24.ZERO issues with cv's 1dude.gif 1dude.gif The car will end up at 96" wide headbang.gif

Just a couple more shots

Mike330R
That thing running yet?
sanddunesaddict
Mike you have no idea.
The worst part is trying to tell my 3 year old we half to wait so it can be finished.
