Well after 8 years of collecting parts and 2 years of not having a car I finally went to Don today to put a deposit and get measured to see what he would have to change to get me in one of his cars easily.

To my suprise(which was awesome) he has my car already roughed out so I could sit in it and get all the measurements for shifter/cutting brakes and seat position

So here is the specs and some starting pics

New 1.75 size chassis that looks like a Probro but is super sized for me 3" longer,3" wider and the roof was raised 2"
Buick Grand National 3.8 running 20-25PSI for now sraptor.gif
Albins 5 speed H-pattern dog box
ADS outboard hubs with 6 piston calipers and 934's
4 Beard RX1's
2.5 Howe power rack
2.5 coilovers with 2.5 bypass all 4 corners
4 K/C 8" HID's on roof with 2 5" K/CHID's on A pillar and 2 5" K/C HID's on the nose.
2" hollows with 4 piston Kartek hubs
all CNC pedals

BLAH BLAH BLAH You know just a typical sand car.

Not to big tongue.gif 6'5 330 but I have a 100% fused spine and cannot bend other than at the hips...so I have to slip in straight hence the taller roof.

Congrats, looking forward to seeing this one smile.gif

Congrats! SCU builds a great car!!! I can't wait to see the finished product. Keep the pics coming.

Have you considered 3.0s instead of 2.5 bypasses since it will be a 1.75 car? How many tube bypasses are you going with? Congrats again!!!

he would allmost be at a weight where i would consider putting 3.0s on. but with a standard light body and a v-6 motor he will be ok he will also be running rear shocks not just coil carriers

is there any disadvantage to running the 3.0's other than cost ? tim

what i dont like and its not a big differance extra weight of the shocks. mounting room..and the ride on a lighter car will not be subtle
sanddunesaddict
^^^^ LIke Don said I will be running some valving in the coilovers also.
It will eventually have triples in the front and rear.Right now I only have 2 tube rears but will upgrade soon.
I still need to purchase some 12" 3 way fronts.

Funny, I had to take my car to Don after purchasing it from TNTDuner. I'm 5'6", about 160lbs. Don moved the two front seats forward 3" and up 2". I actually still have room.. ha ha ha..

My pal on this board, cjrockcrawler, is 6'5". He would have to ride in my back seats (that are unchanged). Awesome build. You said you have a fused spine, what's the story?

I had Scoliosis when I was a kid.
I had a 55 degree curve on the top and a 38 degree on the bottom. It was collasping my lungs and starting on my heart.
I ended up having 2 surgeries to get it right and back then they did everyting to last you your life so its permanent.
I have 4 vertial rods about 18 horizontal rods and hooks into every vertabrae and tons of screws.
They told me I would never ride again. It has never stopped me but I have had 2 get offs on the quad and now with a family it just isnt worth it anymore.
I had a beam car that my dad built in 82.I retired it 3 years ago and have been dying to get into the drivers seat again.
So being 6'5 with a fused spine is kinda hard to get in cars.
Don is making it happen for me and I cant wait.

Congrats on the build, I saw the car in its early stages while my car was in Don's shop for a tranny rebuild, it looks massive with all that 1.75 tube! Hope I can get by soon and check it out after the alum. is done. I need to schd. some alum. time for my car, as I would like a dash installed before next season.

Thank you very much Emil.
It looks awesome. Thanks for talking me out of my idea.
