Due to an off duty dirt bike injury, I'm currently working in a unit that takes police reports over the phone. I've been there (5) weeks and based on what I'm seeing, the HOT vehicles right now are Honda Civics and all brands of crotch rocket street bikes. I'd say that of the reports I'm taking, 8 out of 10 stolen vehicle reports I take are one of those two vehicles.

If you have the $$, get Lojack and you actually see your car or bike again...unless it goes immediately to Mexico and those rat bastards are no help in doing the right thing and returning your car. The truth is, only a small percentage of stolen vehicles end up there....anything that can carry alot of drugs or aliens are top targets for them.

I would rather have the insurance company buy me a new one

I'd say 2/3 of the people with street bikes I talk to either don't have comprehensive coverage or owe WAY more than they will ever get from the insurance company....alot are younger servicemen.

We recover about 80% of cars that are stolen. Not sure about the Civics but probably less than 20% of street bikes, if that.

Honda has an alarm that they offer that is better than lojack.

Lojack is good for after your car is already taken, but Honda offers an alarm system that will prevent the car from being taken.

If you don't unlock the car with your clicker the car wont start at all, even if you try and use the key.
