Went to dealer for stock air filter.Had none but tried to sell me a UNI filter instead.
$26 each.Anyone try them and how do you like them instead of stock?Thanks...

I have a UNI on my bike. I think they are great. Upkeep isn't so bad. Just turn it inside out and hose it out, add a little fast orange hand cleaner and massage filter thoroughly, rinse again. Repeat if nessecary. Spray some oil on it and reinstall.

What can you do with the stock filter?*

Remember, if you increase your airflow by adding a better-than-stock air filter, you most likely will need to increase your main jet size in your carb.

The uni will hardly flow any different than your stock filter. The foam is a closed cell type and flows good, just not much better if any than stock. To see a real change in flow, you'll need a K&N* or run open carbs. I switch between my uni and stock filter on my banshee and notice no difference in performance or jetting. If my 500 can make 70hp using the stock CR250 filter, the foam flows just fine.

*Fireballsocal does not advocate K&N filters in any dirt/sand application due to the tendancy of passing small grains of sand and dust.

Still waiting on that dyno sheet showing that 70hp. icon_wink.gif
SHOCKER
K&N flows more air, and UNI filters better
