In case some people don't know, I just wanted to mention that there is a contingent of pro-access supporters headed for Washington DC this week. Lots of issues will be addressed, including public land users paying for federally mandated studies.

I got a call from Eddie Phillips (Americans For Forest Access) last week asking some very specific questions about the fee demo situation at the ISDRA. Eddie's been fighting the fee demo battles for a long time and it seems CORVA and/or ORBA are helping him get to Washington so he can address the issue personally.

During our lengthy phone conversation it was clear that he was unpleasantly surprised at the abuse of the fee demo program at the ISDRA. The call started out to get a feel for DUNERS' stance and ended up being quite an eye opener. To help him in his presentation, DUNERS forwarded a laundry list of fee demo issues that Eddie will be addressing on our behalf.

He's a strong voice and I'm sure he'll get his point across just fine.

We wish him the best of luck and look forward to a healthy report upon his return!

Vicki:

Eddie is a great person. While his issues are not really recreational OHV issues, access is very important to him. Eddie has been a great volunteer and I'm sure his efforts in DC will open some eyes back there.
