I am going to be building a L92/LS3 engine for the car and wanted to get some ideas on set up and to have some reference when I am ready to install it. I believe that most engine builders are going with a LS1 camaro accessory drive set up which puts the alt below the PS pump. Anyways, post some pics of your set up, who doesnt like engine porn anyways....let see 'em! beer.gif

they make something like a external mount that puts your coils off to where ever you want it. instead of your coils right on top of your valve covers.. i just dont know what its called... ill see if i can find some pics... then you can run a clean polished valve covers...
adam909

Started with what you just got. Sorry no better ones yet. I will have Tim take some when we are draggin. sraptor.gif
50GRIT
Awesome! Keep 'em coming! Tim there are several companies doing coil relocate kits, I'm sure Clay has the hook up on them, that motor is a work of art as-is though. Can't imagine what you are upgrading. Any one have a line on the front drive accessory kits? Mine is set up for the truck and I am assuming I need a F-body/CTS-V layout.

Is there a benefit to any which way? The majority of set ups I see have the Camaro accessory drive vs. the Corvette. I could see having the Alt up higher as a benefit keeping it higher from the sand, but it's probably gonna get in there anyways. Those are super nice set ups in that link. I am on a budget for this round.

Here are two shots of mine. Crate LS3 + hot cam, home made intake, MSD Throttle body, MSD Mefi Computer and harness, MSD coils, Redline pulleys, Gibson headers.

From personal experience i had a x-5 ls1 corvette (stock pullyes). My friend had the same car ls1 with camaro pullyes. He went through a few alt. and i didn't. I think a lot of sand gets kicked up from the front tires(turning) and hits the lower part of the motor. Have fun with the build..

Well if it was a beauty contest I would be torn between Tim's motor and Lucky7 sraptor.gif

Make sense....It should be fun, my first time doing it myself. Gonna keep it fairly stock then find another engine and build it up over time in garage to swap out when I feel the need for more power. Thanks.

Hey Adam. Do you have any cooling issues? Those braided cooling lines look smaller than any other V8 setup I've seen. (Looks good though)

You know how much those coil covers run raw?
50GRIT
Nevermind....Just called them. Pricey, but very nice pieces, around $575 for the raw set (coil covers, filler neck, hardware and plentum cover) for anyone interested.
