My group came up to them right after he stuffed it. Car flipped on it's lid and stayed upside-down. Driver was banged-up pretty good, sore from belts, cut hand from the stearing wheel, passenger seemed ok. We helped them flip it over, made sure he had help, then went on our way. No other cars involved, He just kinda' lost-it off about a 30 footer.

Natural mistake, most people think of Marvin the Martian, the little angry dude bent on Universal domination.
He actually has a lesser-known older brother, Martin the Martian, who has quietly assimilated into Earth culture.
He's a CPA living in El Segundo.

Good point. Fortunately SCU's have the gyro mass stabilization capacitor system which prevents them from flipping. Never happens.

Mar 17 2010, 05:38 PM
This had nothing to do with air bags! He could have had coils to the moon!, wouldn't have made a difference. The conditions were fast, dry on the top, and major tracktion 2 inches down and smooth. Glear(sp) might have had something to do with it also, wev'e all been there!

the way it just fell apart like that??????????
It didn't just "fall apart" It was nosed at a pretty good speed and flipped on it's roof. What did you expect? Flip it over and wipe the dust of the CD player??????? Look at the passenger compartment of that car...you know the part that is completely in tact. did you see anything falling apart there? NO
Its pretty simple, if you do something to make a 2500lb car go from 40 mph to 0 mph in a very short distance there is a high likelihood that something is going to break....I would much rather it be my car's front arms than the cage my family is riding in.

Is this the guy that has a compression fracture on his back?
All I can say is if you can walk away from an accident then the CAR DID IT'S JOB. Over the years I have had several clients wreck thier buggies and It really is a BLESS from GOD that you can walk away.
In 23 years I have never had a Buggy to Buggy major accident until 3-5-2010 in Barstow an Alumi Craft traveling at about 40 mph glanced off left corner to left corner into a Class 1 Race Car traveling about 40 mph and this is what it looked like.........Though major injuries occured no one is paralized and nobody died
Click to view attachment They had to cut the car up with saws-all to remove the driver - his injuries were both tibbia and fibia in both right and left leg broken or shattered, 4 broken ribs and 1 punctured lung. took an hour to cut the guy out of the buggy.
