Wellll....Ruby went to her spaying appt.

When she was brought back to me I was informed she had been pregnant. I'm guessing once they went to spayed her they were inside her and found the puppies

they removed the puppies

Turns out she had only 2 more weeks to go. I am really down about this. I don't understand why they did not check beforhand being that she was an unspayed female fostered dog. Money maybe?
As I look back I wish I knew the signs cuz I see them now. 1. her sluggishness 2. her peeing uncontrolably at times 3. grouchy 4. and day before her appt I noticed mucus coming out of you know where...I am guessing now that it was her mucus plug meaning she was very very close to delivering. 5. I had a hunch she was prego and even said jokingly "have her checked just in case (hahaha)" When she was turned into us she was only 6 months old which means she was prego at 5 months. So sad....this is what pisses me off when dog owners don't protect thier dog. :HATE: They don't deserve her..she is a good dog. Anyways, she is much much thinner around her waist...I had thought she was just growing since she was a rescue pup. She did not have a big belly at all. Her litter was small I guess due to her young age...
I am so sad about this..absolutley breaks my heart. I know the world does not need more puppies but these were already there ya know...to take them out like that seems so cruel. And Ruby must have known something was going on with her body..Its day 3 now and she is doing okay
Click to view attachmentFostering her has opened my eyes to the very sad reality of the world these poor dogs live. I want to help but I'm not sure I can take anything like this again. Now I know why Tia from Pit Bulls and Parolee's says "you harden yourself". I totally get it now. For my first foster it has been quite an unusual ordeal. Thank God her new owners are good...so I'm told. They also own a Presa Canario. I will meet them this weekend.
