Put a new top end on the bike. the problem I was having was it will
bog off idle, To the point you just about can't ride it. If you snap the throttle
it will not rev, just bog. Keep holding it and it will die. The thing will run good
once it gets going. I have had the carb apart many times, moved the needle up and down.
Checked float level. Air cleaner is clean. Reed's look to be in good shape.
Ant ideas of what I am missing?
Carlos
When my son had his YZ85... it would do the same thing... turned out that it had to "warm up" for at least two minutes before it was able to go without the bog. After that it would scream around wherever he wanted... few other peeps that had the same bikes had the same issues so I didnt think it was all that big of a problem, just a lesson in patience for him... dunno.gif

Still does it hot.
I have never soaked the carb. Maybe later I will go get a bucket of carb dip.
Got to be something in the carb that I am not getting clean. Had it apart
twice today. The bike has pretty much been sitting for 10 years.

Could be the carb is dirty or it could be the carb isn't jetted correctly. Is the bike stock? Are the jets the stock sizes?

I have cleaned the carb about 6 times.
Stock bike. i would think the jets are stock. If you slowly give it gas it is fine.
Just can't snap the throttle. And that is on the stand. Trying to ride it you can barley
get it out of the hole. But once you do it will do 5th gear wheelies.
Fireballsocal
When you cleaned the carb, did you blow out the inner passeges behind the jets with compressed air? Carbs are small on the minis and tend to plug easily but cleaning it that many times should have dislodged anything by now. What kind of air filter are you using?

CHILI3
I have blown air through every hole I can find. Has a new filter. I think Uni.
Even tried it with the filter off.

Not sure. Just had a suspicion. Pulled the flywheel cover off and noticed oil at the bottom
of the case. Went over to Yamaha and bought a puller and seal. Pull off the flywheel and
ignition plate and the seal was hanging out. Bad part is they gave me the wrong seal.

Ignition side. Just sucking air big time.

Wierd. Good call on your suspicion. I always thought they would have a high idle and act lean, not over fueled.

Started it up tonight, sounds good so far.
Off to Glamis tomorrow night.
