awesome deal, in those machines you guys run, I'm not sure why everyone doesn't wear one. I applaud you, your safety concerns, and the safe cars you build! just wish I could afford one, lol.

Don, I applaud you for doing this. I have been touting the value of helmets to members here for a while now. I have not done it to sell them helmets, but rather it is something I believe in. I have been met with mixed response. Some feel it is still not needed. I am glad you are spreading the word.
Have you decided on which style or brand you will include? SA or M rated? Are you going to have a base helmet and give customers the option to upgrade? I am not trying to bombard you with details. It is just something to think about......

This is a HUGE step in the right direction.
I would venture to say you could some manufacturers to do some sponsoring programs. Like take a driving lesson and get some helmets.

Imagine... a builder that suggests wearing a helmet before the law forces them too! What a concept.
Very glad your OK Don! Keep up the good work!

We have been looking at helmets to use in the buggy, and the Simpson sand warrior looks like a nice lightweight helmet. Does anyone have any experience with these? they also make a pit warrior, that may fit the bill. Any info would be helpfull

Full face with shield might be more comfy in the long run?

I have looked at a lot of helmets, and the lightweight fell face design of the sand warrior looks pretty good, so I ordered one to try out. I looked at them at the last SSSS, but no one stocked a xxl for me to try on. It is claimed to be only 2 lbs, and has more air passages, its also easy to hook up radios. I guess I'll try it and see. If anyone has any experience with one of these good or bad please let me know. I wear goggles all the time anyway, so it will be a different feeling, but hopefully it should be a lot safer. I'm a bit worried about field of view. I have never rolled my buggy, but I was with a buddy when we did a slow 1 1/2 and ended inverted (yeah, I got him the tee) I wish I was wearing the helmet then! You never know, and I cant afford to loose any more brain cells.

I just got an email from the only place that I could find the sand warrior helmet in my size, and now they do not have my size either. So, I am back looking for a lightweight in car helmet............. any ideas? I think my normal riding helmet really limits the field of view, but all the talk about helmets, and everyone who has had accidents lately, makes me want to protect myself and passengers even more. IDEAS??
