Access For All Expo Brings Sand Drag Racing Back to the Central Valley
World’s Fastest Sand Dragster to Race
May 15-16, 2004 at the International Agri-Center, Tulare
Tulare, CA – April 14, 2004 – The Access for ALL™ EXPO, sponsored by Budweiser, Clawson Motorsports, KJUG, and Weekend Warrior, is bringing sand drag racing back to the San Joaquin Valley. What started out as a small fund raiser to benefit Friends of Oceano Dunes has turned into a top-fuel ignited firestorm as sand drag racers from as far as Michigan are coming to race at the Tulare Agri-Center on May 15 - 16, 2004.
During the EXPO, race fans can witness over 6000 horse power reach 150 mph in just 2.5 seconds as world record holder, Scott Whipple turns loose the Canidae Pet Foods’ top-fuel sand dragster. Backed by crew chief Famous Amos Satterlee, the world’s fastest dragster - driven by Whipple - holds the record for estimated time and miles per hour in both the National Sand Race Association (NSRA) and the Sand Sports Drag Racing Association (SSDRA) record books.
“The Canidae Pet Foods team and I are pleased to be racing at the Access for All EXPO,” said Whipple. “We’re looking forward to defending our record at the event and are pleased to know that all the money raised goes to support the Friends of Oceano Dunes.”
The Access for All EXPO is the largest off-road event in the Central Valley. In addition to sand drag racing, the EXPO features a high-impact combination of static displays from top ATV and RV manufacturers, local designers, suppliers and vendors along side live rock-crawl demonstrations. The event promises to draw off-road enthusiasts from all aspects of the sport.
“Although in its first year, the Access for All EXPO anticipates drawing in over 10,000 fans to Tulare,” said John McKoane, owner of Clawson Motorsports. “As a business owner, I’m impressed to see that the show management has focused on using local businesses to ensure that their event will not only be a lot of fun for the whole family but also help to boost our local economy.”
For more information about the event, or to register to race in the sand drags, visit the Access for All EXPO website at www.oceanodunes.org/tulare or call Butch Hotz at 559-904-3900.
