Need to get a larger gas tank for my 2008 Honda XR650L. Looking at the 4 gallon size, but I am not sure which manufacture is best. Anyone upgrade theirs or know of which manufactures make the best gas tanks?
Permagrin
IMS or Clarke

Check out www.clarkemfg.com out of Oregon, they've been making nice plastic for a long time.

Just curious, why didn't someone mention Acerbis? Are they not as well made or fit right. Just wondering. beer.gif

They are a bitch to get... and they dont offer as many options as ims and clarke. The one good thing acerbis tanks has going for them is thier huge 6.6 gallon monsters that those dakar and baja guys love. aside from that i personally wouldnt run one..

dry break, multiple sizes, Clarke you pick whatever color you want when you order it. IMS wont just whip up a tank for you if they dont have it on a shelf you have to wait for them to do a run of them and hope they make what you want.

Acerbis your pretty much limited to one size you can find larger tanks from them but they are mostly stock sized tanks with the exceptions. Most all brands carry a dry break system IMS has the best one.. As said before Clarke is the best as far as getting what you want. Dry Break, Your color choice, and there is no fuss over it icon_biggrin.gif

saw an add for a new manufacturer - Safari- might try them

safari is a model of acerbis
