We are in Mike. Just reserved spaces 28/29 and are good to go. I am bringing my trailer tank full of race fuel but will probably need another 55 during the week

Due to a very unforseen tragic family incident I will not be making the trip to Idaho. I hope everyone goes and has a very safe time. Toast a beer for me, and be safe. Please keep me in mind for next years trip.

Thanks,

Terry

Sorry to hear this Terry.

Looks like I am out also.

Does anyone know where to find race fuel on the way up, perhaps in Vegas or Utah?

Unfortunately I don't carry big drums, just the 40 gal tank in the toy hauler plus cans. I found a place in Utah but it's about an hour off the 15, west of Salt Lake. Called a couple of places in Idaho Falls but nobody knows where.

Any help is appreciated!

QUOTE (Terry Allen @ Jun 10 2010, 11:11 AM) I just got off the phone with the Sunoco fuel distributor in Ogden, UT. He can get us dealer pricing if we commit to at least 3 barrels of 110 or 112. price is 341.00 plus 12.00 tax and a barrel charge of 29.00 unless you have a barrel exchange. I am in for at least one barrel and would rather haul it from Ogden than Vegas or in most of your cases from CA. Downside is that they are a Mon-Friday business so it would have to be planned to pick up Friday afternoon. It is right off the I15 freeway. i may have some extra room but won't know for awhile so anybody interested in this?

Terry

Why not have it delivered to your camp site from the local guys?

I'll call him tomorrow. Since I don't have barrels, does he just drop one off to be used while you're there?

Bowen fuel will deliver it right to your camp at the time and date. Leaves the barrel but Im believe chgs you a barrel fee. So if you or someone has an extra empty battel you can use you can save some cash. Someone mentioned that there were lot's of spares up there but I have not camped at this campground before

Just an FYI you are going to a place where the owners are very special. i made my reservations and paid for them. When i called to cancel yesterday due to the death of my son there was no hesitation they refunded the money to my card. I have always stayed at Sandhills resort but with owners like this I would not hesitate to go to Idahodunes park and would refer anybody i could tto that place. please thenk them again for me as they didn't have to do that and it was a very nice gesture. I will always remember their kindness.

Thanks again Terry. We've camped at Sandhills also but I've had a few conversations with this guy from Idaho Dunes and he seems great.

I can't tell you how sorry I am for you and your family Terry. I just lost my sister last month at 46 years old and there's just nothing easy about it. Hang in there bud, our prayers are with you guys!

Oh yeah, i brought two spare trailer tires and rims, one additional trailer tire and just replaced all three right tires with F rated tires icon_cool.gif
one spare front and rear buggy tire too.

Steve Sanders had an issue with his trailer on the way down the hill to state line, all four trailer tires caught fire, had to use an extinguisher to put them out, $1600 later he had all rotors, pads and new caliper installed, guess the fire warped the pistons in the caliper. some don't know that the Jake brake in a diesel pusher will apply the trailer brakes, so as he was cruising down the hill with his jake brake on, he should have lowered or turned off his trailer brakes wife.gif

Just so you know John there is a way to make the Jake brake NOT apply the trailer brakes. It has something to with adding a diode or something to the rear brake light set-up. If you want more info let me know when you get home. Give us a wave as you go thru Vegas in the AM and be safe.

Wife and I are on our way home. Trip was unbelievable!!!!

White water rafting yesterday, cruising Jackson Hole, water fights between rafts, and the other team trying, with three guys to pull John from our raft! No luck, just pain for them!

Dining was awesome with 5th gear bowls at 90+. Weather was terrific most of the trip.

The rest are returning tomorrow and pictures will follow. For all you slackers who missed this trip, you lose!

Terry, all the best to you and your family!

Cheers,

Steve

You got it Pat! Just have to get your wife for a ride in one and it's all down hill from there. Was really nice meeting you, Bart, Kenny, Elliott and Don. Let's meet up at the Sand Sports show in Orange County in September.

Take it easy,

Steve

This picture was from a mountain top called "Two top" it over looks lakes on both sides of the ridge, looking down towards a place called "Island Park" this was part of our 248 mile 12 hour dual sport ride, on the way down the mountain, it started to rain heavy, and then hailed pea sized hail for about 15 minuets
