Full Version: Suzuki 450
Does anyone know if Suzuki is comming out with a 450 or at least a quad that can compete with the new 450s?
I've heard nothing as of yet....i'm sure it's in the works!!
people over a z400central.com have been talking about it and theres a guy on there who knows people who know people who know somebody and he can get info about quads beeing released, but he says there is suppost to be a new zuki 450 that is being released in june/july, with the new rmx450 looks like we got a motor for it though

Man i baught my Z to early, not, o well, i hope this zuki kills the other 450s
Two wheeler will come out first as a 2005 model . . .

I think if you were to ask Factory Suzuki ATV racer Doug Gust he'd probably say Suzuki already has one (a quad that can compete with the new 450s). It's called the Z400.
Of course Gusts bike IS a 450 so I suppose that doesn't really count. It is good to see that they can make the Z400 faster than both the Factory Honda AND Yamaha.
Before I'm scolded - Yes, the stock or mildly modded Z400 is still a turd in comparison to the newer 450's - 'nuff said. New Z450 is on it's way.

I'd say suzuki could field a 450 version of the Z400 with very little investment. Just install the yoshi kit at the factory. True it wouldn't be the purebred "race" bike that the honda and yamaha's have, but not everyone wants or needs the race treatment..
Look at effinbess77, runs the same engine mods as me except he has better suspension, and is a better rider but he beats 450s in races, by the way when are you getting your 450 kit?
I'm still shopping builders but it's going to be soon. Still debating the Big Bore kit vs the Big Bore Stroker kit. Besides, who said it was only going to be a 450??

I'd say the 450 will be new from the ground up. They are not gonna sit back and just slap a 450 motor in a revised chassis. They will use alot of Z400 components for cost reasons. I think they will also offer a kick and electric start as Honda missed the boat in that area.. I'd say titanium valves as inspired from the GSXR's. Suzuki will not make the mistake Honda did and offer a half arsed race quad..

My 500 scoots up the hill pretty good I wish it had an electric starter...

by the end of the summer suz will be releasing there new 450 to compete w honda and the yamaha last months dirt rider magzine repoted
