The roll-up shades work well at least, don't look so hot, butt work well!

Instead of spray paint, try the spray polyurethane. Gives the windows a nice frosted can't see thru look. REAL CLASSY

You can put up curtains. They make light blocking curtains and you can put them up in a variety of ways.. And if someone's handy with a sewing machine it's easy to cut them and rehem them
