Hey guys just wondering if anybody has done this before. Are there any models that would hold up to the weight better? It would be a extra cab ford ranger with long travel ( I could put skinnys on it to get it in) Also i take a jeep sometimes has anyone done this? What kind of mods would have to be done to a trailer if I were to do it? Maybe I should look into a race trailer with living quarters? thanks guys...

I'm kinda wondering the same thing. I picked up a short bed Ranger and would be cool to take out to Pismo.

Click to view attachmentTruck I don’t no. A Jeep yes. I have a 07 CR3905 Weekend Warrior, and I’ve put my 04 Limited Jeep Wrangler it. It’s the extended body Jeep. People said I couldn’t do it, so I told them to come watch & learn. The Jeep has a 4” lift with 33” tires. The only thing I did is changed the front passenger tire to the stock tire to drive it in. I also, put 2 aluminum scaffolding over the ramp door because of the weight of the Jeep is too much for the door to drive it in. I towed it many times like that to Glamis without any problems!
Here’s a pic of the Jeep I drove inside.

I put my 83 yota in my warrior. I have 16 feet to the first cabinet.
I dont need to change tires or anything.
the ramp is rated for 2500 pounds and holds up no problem. both axles are not on the ramp at the same time so The wieght is nowhere near 2500 while loading.

heck that's nothing, I've seen a whole BOAT in one. The axles are on the ramp at the same time too! Held up just dandy.

How did you use the scaffolding ? plank ? metal plank?

I used two aluminum planks. I basically placed it right over the ramp door, one end touching the street and i used 2 square bricks on the floor the floor of WW and placed the other end of the plank right on top of the bricks to clear the ramp door. The planks barely touched the ramp door as i drove it out & in.

Figure 4k weight for the Jeep. Put the nose in first so it's over the axles. We put our TJ in the Carson 24 when we had it.

Put my TJ w/4" lift and 33's in my 32'WW toung pull. Just drive it in the ramp will hold up fine.
