Hello all ! trying to purchase a set of air bags for my truck 04 F250 6.0 PSD with 4" lift block on the rear, i tow a WW le3505. when i called Firestone they gave me two part #'s 2330 air bag kit (for hitch in bed) & 2371 spacer. anybody running this setup? did you install yourself? degree of difficulty? were these axle mounted or leaf mounted? are there any other options to avoid the sagging? any info would help thanks.

There are two styles, one goes on the side of the frame and the other goes under the frame, I like the under the frame (ride rite) it was easy to install took about 45 minutes with air tools on my ford. if you assemble most of the kit on a bench it will help. and then used a t fitting so both air bags work off the same air chuck.

is your truck lifted? if so how did that factor in the install? i like the T connector idea for one air fitting.

I installed my own on a GMC though but its pretty easy, maybe 45-60 min. If your truck is lifted, you'll need that spacer. I personally dont like the "T" connector because you run the risk of when turning, air pressure can move from one bag to the other resulting in uneveness...note I said possible. Plus, if you have seperate fittings, you can adjust the individual bag for uneven loads.

i can see the benefit of separate fittings... how did the rails for you hitch on the frame affect the install? i gues that would depend on the kind of mount..leaf mounted or axle mounted?

Mine is a frame to the top of axle mount. The hitch does not affect at all because the frame bracket replaces the factory bump stop.

i wonder.... is there a benefit to axle mounted or leaf spring mounted?

This kind works but tightens up the spring rate. So when you inflate the bags you increase the springs resistance to flex. So you can run into a lot of energy transfer from big bumps that would normally be absorbed by the spring flex. But instead it pops the rear of your truck upward. If you have any weight distribution issues you can get into a nasty hitch banging scenerio. Camping world installs these all day cheaper than anyone.

There are some new ones out now that mount at the end of the shackle. This retains all of your stock spring flex but adjusts the ride hieght based on your needs. (CAN'T FIND A PIC)
Hope this helps.

Yes t good info, No t good info, I have ran them both ways with my 3705 CR WW did not see a difference, have done this since 04, and I drive like a bat out of hell, The best is to try both and form your own opinion.
This kit will not bend
there are 3 different holes for ride hight. it replaces the bump stop
the pictures below are all the same kit.

got the parts in and installed...this order was for a bolt on custom kit for my truck. Yeah right !!!! had to make a few modification to the kit.... turned out to be about a 3-4 hour job on each side. called firestone and gave them a piece of my mind! after all was said and done kit looked good. hitched up the 5er to get a feel for the load on the air bag / air springs .drove it a few miles and over all i was very pleased the truck towed way better not a choppy with the air bags, truck was sitting nice and level. i will try to post pics..

That seems odd, I have the same truck, with air tools it only took me about a hour. You save a lot of time if you change the 90 degree fittings to straight and install them in the air bag first.
