Have you riden the rappy yet? if you did it run good? if it is running good leave the baffle and jets, but if its not running good then do the baffle mod and jett it, but if its running fine i wouldnt mess with the baffle and have to deal with the jets, get a slip on

baffle is easy.
undo the hex nut at the very rear of the pipe.
start the bike and use a pair of channel locks in the pipe.
rotate to your left and it'll slid right out.
can't tell ya what to jet a raptor at, i just know the exhaust cause it's the same one as the YFZ.

Shovel dont mess with it, ride it for awhile, get used to the bike, then do it right, dont look for a quick mod, you might start screwing stuff up, do it once and do it right, things work better that way.

Well if ya ride it and it runs like crap dont know what to say, i wouldnt remove the lid until you get a decent filter and outerwear, but hey its your bike so do whatever

The stock foam filter will filter fine. The only problem is if the raptor has the same mount as a banshee where the lid helps hold the filter on. If the filter can fall off without the lid on, then do not take off your lid unless you get the clamp on style air filter.

for use with the K&N I Cut the Lid back to the First Clamp and that worked Fine
but I would Recommend the Prodesign Setup Like this

Don't get water down your baffle hole. It will start an irreversible problem. It might sound tough but it's not hard to notice by everyone all you did was take out the baffle. Makes you look like a wanna-be. Don't screw with the air intake until you can afford and know how to re-jet. All sorts of things could get messed up. Contact me or any other of these other fine maniacs who are on their own quest for the ultimate performance when you get 4bills saved up and I will guide you through it. Just did my wife's YFZ and it runs hot! (as in well, not as in I didn't know what I was doing during the rejet

) Enjoy and break it in right so's you don't burn oil....

Don't take the air cleaner lid off. The Raptor needs some air pressured caused by the lid. Take it off and run up and down the street and you'll see what I mean. Drill a few holes in the lid. You will get a lot more power out of it and you won't need to rejet. Start with about ten 1/4" holes and see how the power is. I've done it to several bikes. Drill in places that don't affect the structure of the lid.

Air boxes are designed to have a specific amount of vacuum to help the bike run smooth at anything less than WFO throttle. A lean condition may arise from changing the amount of air the motor receives. The person who owned my Warrior before me eliminated the air box and put on a White Bros. pipe. The thing hardly started and barely ran unless it was at full throttle. I've already doubled the jet sizes and this has helped a bit. It also runs fine at about 7,000 feet above sea level (yeah, that is NOT Glamis) The kicker is that it's still slow.
My Raptor is stock with a minus one sprocket in the front. That's IT!
Can I beat anyone at the drags? NO, but I can tell you that nobody can loose me in the dunes. IT runs great, idles, and starts easy.
I say unless you are gonna do engine work, leave it alone.

Yeah thats what im saying, just save money for a pipe system and intake system and make sure you get the right jets, i would recomend getting a full power system from alba, they are just under $500 with full pipe system, jets, k&n, billet adaptor, and outerwear thats whats on my Z and it is great

dude all i can say is dont mess with it til your ready to really modify it. i had a chance to help my buddy het his raptor and it was biatch to do. you had to practically tear apart teh whole bike just to do a few adjustments and work. i dont like the way the carbs are set up.
but thats my $0.02
