Hey guys, This is my first post here. I spent quite a bit of time reading the various topics and have learned a lot. I have recently run into a problem with my toyhauler. It is a 2007 extreme 23 lt. One of the fresh water tanks spilt down the side last weekend while I was filling it up. I think that it is partially my fault for filling the tank up too fast or there is a problem with the venting.

Anyways, Extreme is out of business I guess or is now operating under another name and I cant get a hold of anyone at the new company number. I am hoping to buy a new tank so I can put it in. I patched the split with epoxy and fiberglass and so far it has held but I have a big trip coming up and just want to replace it and be done.

I know there are some great vendors here who may have an insight on where I can get one.

I appreciate any help and thanks in advance.

Don't know where you are but if your in SOCAL cal K&N Customs and talk to Keith the owner. If he doesn't have one he can find one for you at a good price.951-928-0380

I would try any of the rv supply places, those tanks should be pretty universal.

Try these guys, if they don't have what you need they'll make it for you. INCA Plastics. Alot of the shops in my area use them when they need tanks.

Nothing on any of the trailers other than some cosmetic stuff is proprietary its all bought from the same sources. Walts Rv supply in Rialto Ca is a good place to find new and used surplus stuff to.

2nd vote on Inca Plastics, they make most of the fresh/wastewater tanks for the RV industry. If it was built in SoCal the tank probably came from them. If they didn't make it they probably have a design that will fit. Check their website for dimensions and capacities...

BTW they mold to order, so allow at least a week for your tank to be ready.

My husband KingGlamis works for Freedom Roads in Mesa AZ, if you are a Zonie he can get it for you. smile.gif They might even have it in stock...

Thanks for all the help. I was able to find the original manufacturer who luckily has the design still. It is Custom roto molding. I guess they get a lot of requests for this tank.

not to be rude but why would you want another of the same?

I know that when I replaced my back tank, it wasn't the tank's fault. Although, my tank didn't split, it fell out. When the replacement tank arrived I noticed that the bracket that holds the sliding piece of angle on one side was slotted for the curb side. I extended the slot so the tank would fit in tighter in the hold. Extreme trailer on a Zieman frame.

I had a rear water tank split on my trailer too. I removed the tank from the trailer, then cleaned the crack real well. I used a special auto body epoxy that a friend of ours uses at his fiberglass shop to permanently stick parts together. Next I inflated the tank with air to open up the crack a little and I spread the epoxy inside the crack. Once I spread the epoxy in the crack I allowed all the air to quickly rush out of the tank causing the crack to close with the epoxy inside. I spread a little epoxy on the outside of the crack and let it set for about a week. It has held water ever since with no leaks.

The next problem I had with the water tanks, is the way they are mounted under the trailer. I believe the way they are mounted is more the cause of why my tank cracked. I always let the water trickle in until its full so I don't over extend the crappy venting / filling method they installed.

My water tanks were merely wedged under the trailer between a center I-beam, and two pieces of angle iron holding the top lips of the tank. This pretty much allowed all the water to hang with no support. My tanks were fine until one trip when I drove for an extended period across an extremely bumpy highway. (from Yuma through Quartsite to Kingman) The next morning I noticed the crack. It is my belief that it was due to the rough road, and the water being able to bounce up and down in the tank with no support for the bottom.

I have added two support straps under the tanks. When the tanks are full they now sit on the straps that help support the bottom. I haven't really been able to test the straps out, other than fill the tanks with water and let it sit, which has been successful for the past month now. But I have a long trip to Oregon planed in July so I should know if the fix works or not.

I did take a few pictures of what I did along the way....
