This little fella was abandoned at a vets office and they were going to take him to the pound due to no owners, so Doug and I stepped up and offered to foster him for a couple weeks to try and find him a home!! Darn, have to take care of an adorable healthy 8 week old puppy for a few weeks, life is rough. He is through AZ Paws and Claws so I personally know the people in charge of the rescue and we can work with folks that are interested in him. He has already had his puppy shots (1st round), flea and tick treatment, and will be nuetered prior to adoption. His name is Lu, and looks like a Shepard of some type? I believe the adoption fee is 150.00 but will have to check, which is a good deal considering he will have all the shots paid for and the nueter done.

Thanks Wop! I hope to get him a new home soon! I told them I could foster him for 2-3 weeks tops, then he will have to go back to the rescue! So I am hoping we find this little feller a home before 2-3 weeks, I promise that he will be used to being snuggled and cuddled and loved while staying @ Da Royals.

I went and picked up this little man today, and he is tooooo sweet! After seeing him in person, I am thinking he is a smaller dog breed, after looking at pics of Angel at this age she was easily 2 times his size. From his size, color and fur maybe a pug mixed with something? IDK, but he has been great so far. He is great with the kids, and a few minutes ago he was squalling his head off, I took him out and low and behold he went potty. Well on his way to being housebroken! He was not backing off from the big dogs and trying to play with them. Ate his dinner, then promptly wanted out to go poop. He LOVES people! follows us all over and snuggles right up to you every chance he gets. He will be spoiled rotten here, kids are loving on him lots! He likes chewing on the marrow bones and not much of anything else yet.

From last Christmas trip to Doug's parents, we decided to call him SKIP. We were playing catch phrase with Doug's parents, and the word was TURBO. Doug's clue to my brother was "my dogs' name" and my brother said SKIP (uh our dogs are named Angel and Turbo) so the kids said now we DO have a dog named SKIP even if it is a foster.

Here he is! Just went home for lunch to check on the lil moofer, and he was very happy to see me! I have him locked in the AZ Room, which is nice and cool and he has lots of room to run around and bones to chew on. He was very happy to see me, and did not potty in there, went as soon as let him out. He appears to be housebroken. He cried his heart out last night when I left him in the box, and then after about 30 mins of that Angel and Turbo started barking too so I gave in and put him in bed with us. He slept, well like a baby, all night long, I had to wake him up this morning to get up and go potty.

I'm curious how big he'll be... and what he'll look like!!

Well my large kennel is at another lady's house that volunteered as a foster mom and needed it more than me at the time. I am getting back Saturday. Besides both my dogs either sleep on the foot of my bed or in my room at night, so for ME not a big deal. But in the intereset of fostering I will do the crate as soon as I get it Saturday. He may get a lil spoiled tonight and tomorrow.

Me too Monica! He a little stubby legged with a longer torso area, and he ain't afraid of anything. Turbo's head is the size of all of Skip and he chasing Turbo around and playing with him when Turbo lays down. and he LOVES Angel's fluffy legs and tail poor Angel. She just trots off to higher ground where he can't reach her. Lol! Maybe I should have called him Scrappy.

Our Akita / Shepards were tiny like that as puppies. This puppy looks a lot like them. They were both well over 100lbs before they passed. You just never know how big this puppy will get without knowing it's parents.

Also I have discovered Turbo's REAL calling in dog life. He is amazing with this puppy. He lays down and they play and play. Turbo will be on his back and Skip is just biting the crap out of his ears, eyes, tail, everywhere, and Turbo has a great time and is AMAZINGLY gentle with him. He is my new foster puppy babysitter! Adoption fee is 200.00 and a refundable 50.00 deposit as a promise to get him fixed. This includes ALL of his puppy shots, he is healthy etc.

This little one is smart as a whip, cute and playful! Would be great for a duner pup when he grows up, I don't think he will be very big. He is cute as can be and loves playing! Housebroken too!

Skip is still looking for a FURever home! He is such a great little dude, full of personality and is smart too! We would normally require a home-visit and not adopt outside of the local area, but Nancy (who is the lady in charge @ Paws and Claws, the rescue he is with) said if it is anyone from our Glamis friends that wants him, she will waive the requirement! So if you are out of state and are interested, just let me know! He will make a great companion to a home!

Skip is having his "Sleep over Rover" night with his possible new FURever home tonight!!! It is a young active couple with a 1 year old puggle that needs a brother. Keep your fingers crossed Skip has a new home!

This is my very 1st, pick up from the dumped location, take into our home, find a family and they fell in love with him! I am very happy!

Funny how things work out some times...

So the lady that runs AZ Paws and Claws lost her father recently, he was a Colonel in the Marines. They initially wanted to call him Colonel(the pup) but I did not really understand the story, so we started calling him Skip. Fast forward to yesterday, I meet the potential new family, the guy and his gf, and their puggle named Sarge. Guy is a Phoenix cop, gf is a nurse, come to find out he is retired Army! They all get along GREAT with Skip who I left with them for a overnight stay to see if it'll all work out. So I tell this to Nancy, who promptly deducts 25.00 off his adoption fee for the military.

Today he calls me and said they are all smitten with Skip, and are ready to sign on the dotted line to adopt him. He was very thankful for the discount, and said funny thing is him and the gf were talking about dog names on the way to meet Skip yesterday and decided that they are going to call him Colonel!!!!!!!!! WOW! Funny how things work out sometimes...Nancy was in tears when I called and told her, and she was so excited that he found a good furever home and will have her fathers namesake. What an awesome experience for me.
