This should probably be in two wheel but I figured it might get more respsonses here. Does anyone have the Kesea quads ?? I'm planning on getting the kids quads this summer and want one's with suspension and are 4 strokes. My kids are 15, 13 and 10. This will be there first quads and want something they can learn on. They have electric start and auto clutches so they shold be easy to learn on but I don't want to buy junk quads.

I guess ATV/ATC Tech would be best...
How long do you plan on them lasting? I would say one might be appropriate for a 10 year old, but for a 13 or 15 y/o, try a Honda 250 or 300EX, or a Warrior. One of these might be something that would be stable and user-friendly enough for a beginner (I believe the Honduh has an auto clutch), but with enough power to keep the kids happy for a while...

I know someone with the kasea 90 and someone with the kasea 150, the 90 is awesome, and i havent seen the 150 in action but she said it was slow, yeah a 250ex or warrior or 300ex would be good starter quads for the older ones, im 15 and i ride a z400, but i have a couple years of expierience, but i have a blaster for sale

A Blaster might not be bad either, I was just sticking with the recurring theme of thumpers because the powerband is a bit more manageable, which might be a big deal to a noob. I started on a Blaster and the 2 stroke didn't faze me at all...but I started at age 17 and weight around 200.

I have a Kasea 50 its a 2stroke and hasnt really gave me any problems. Ive had it for 4-5yrs now. My kids are only 8 and soon to be 5. When its time to step up I think I will get my kids a more popular brand bike only for the upgradable reasons. Blaster is a good starter bike if you have the patience to teach them how to shift gears.

copey...I'd say it's going to depend on your budget. And with three young un's, it's probably always tight. I don't have any experience with the kasea's. But I'd be sorely tempted to try and stay with popular models from the "big 4" if at all possible. Reason for that would be parts availability and general knowledge of the units by others who can help you through the inevitable problems that are going to show up.
As for what I would buy...that old budget thing comes into play big time here. This is what I would consider to be reasonable..and dependent on the kids in question. First, the 15 year old. I'd look into a 400 ex in decent shape. These have electric start, but manual clutch. At 15, I'm sure they'd learn the clutch quickly. You'd be fine starting them off in stock configuration, and as they get better, you can mod til your hearts content. Also, with hondas well deserved reputation for longevity, you could hand this down to the 13 year old in a couple years.
Following the hand me down idea, I might consider a 300 ex for the 13 year old. Again, the clutch/shifting should be easy enough for them to pick up after just a couple rides. When the 400 comes down, the 300 could roll down to the 10 year old. A possible alternative might be to find a polaris trail blazer 250...it's a two stroke, but has oil injection and has elec start and auto clutch. It'll go just about anywhere in the dunes.
Now the 10 year old...to me this is the toughest one. Not many real good choices here at least in my opinion. 10 year olds are sorta in between the little quads and the full size ones. perhaps finding an old trx200 or an ex 250.
I'd shop used to try and get the best value. Just in case they decide they don't like them, you'd stand to get more of your $$'s back. And it'll stretch that fun budget a whole lot further. Another possible advantage of used is that the seller often times will have some gear to throw into the deal. When you are outfitting a whole family, proper gear can get expensive real fast..And it's one of the most important aspects of the whole deal..

But that's just me..

After reading the posts here I did some thinking and you guys are right for the older two. They are both girls by the way and really want dirt bikes but I would feel better of them being on 4 wheels to start learning. I was a bit concerned about the motor size and this being their first bikes but if they are 4 strokes they should be able to handle the throttle. My youngest is a boy and is affraid of nothing and I would worry about putting him on something he could kill himself on. He will be a bit tougher to but for. But I think the girls will get either a 300 or 400. I'll have to do some research on somethin for him that I would fell safe for him to be on. Even me and the wife could take the two bigger quads out for a little ride !! Thanks for the input !

I bought a Kawasaki 300 Lakota Sport this past fall for a camp bike. It has an automatic clutch but you still have to shift. It also has reverse. My grandson started on a Blaster when he was 10 years old, now 12. He got the shifting down right away. The biggest problem is learnig to use the clutch. Most kids rev up the motor and dump the clutch. On the Blaster the chain works lose and clutch cables break. I had the same problems with my two boys. Now back to the Lakota Sport. My grandson has ridden a Warrior and now the Lakota sport. He really likes the Lakota and it is faster than the Warrior and is lighter. I found a 2001 for $2000.00 last fall.
Just a thought for you if you want the girls to learn to shift and not deal with the clutch until they get stronger in their hands.

start the boy off in a Blaster! Mine started 9 and was in a banchee by 13.
when he started, it was one trip of learning and by the end of the season he was riding all over the place. remember he will have the longest time to learn and get experience.
My bud started his 9 year old on LT90, by 1/2 seasone and he was done with the 90, and alwas wanted to ride the blaster,
BTW his 13 girl was good on the blaster too, just took longet to get the shifting down.

Shocker when the kids dump the clutch it streches the chain and destroys the front sprocket. If they don't have the strength in their hands that is the only way they shift. The clutch cable breaks by the handle. I figured out to put some free play in the adjustment so the handle dosen't bang the stop on the handel bars. The Blaster I have is a 1990 and has been ridden by my two boys and now my grandson.

I think there are plenty of aftermarket parts for the Kasea 90's and other similiar quads, OTHER than the big 4. Unless I'm wrong in thinking aftermarket parts are things like - +3 arms, shocks, axles, billet parts, big bores, strokers, clutch mods, pipe's, carbs, etc. etc. They really seem to be great bikes. Mild when stock, great for the kids and can be made to run like MAD with some simple mods and can move my 215lbs up some big dunes.
Skat Trak 18x9.5-8 6 paddle Gliders are the best tire for these bikes. Gecko's, although everyone seems to be trying to sell them here, seem to be on par with the stockers - performance wise. They look pretty neat and the kids probably like that but, performance is only fair at best. Mind you, I run Gecko's on my Z400 and sure, Haulers would be better but, I get around the dunes just fine on them.

If you're looking for Kasea mods, check out hetrickracing.com, I have ordered alot of stuf from them and they are really helpful and have tons of stuff to make the thing fly. I think the next step on the 50 will be the 70cc kit.
A pipe and clutch kit will really wake up the 90's.
