She was 15yrs and 11 months old, had a fantastic life, gave darlene the approval to date me (on our first date darlene said if Lacey didnt like me it was over, whew made the cut) , she was darlenes girl since 8 weeks old and she was my girl for the last 9yrs, people that know us knew that if you wanted to hang out with us lacey had to be invited or we most likely wouldnt go, all our vacations were planned with her, she liked big bear lake, dog beach, glamis, dog park, car drives, doheny state beach, and just hanging ( and probally laughing at) me and darlene. Truly sorry for your loss. I put down my best bud Bubba who was also 15 years old last December. You think it would help knowing they lived a full life, and had ill-health in old age but dang it, didn't help me say goodbye at all. He was ready but I was not, even now reading the poem from Lacy has me tearing up. It's still hard to think about.

Esco, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time. I had the blessing of meeting Ms Lacy on one of my first trips to Glamis, she and her parents made me feel welcome and I'll never forget that.

RIP Ms Lacy, as your momma always says "heaven has a doggie door"

I have no words... my heart is aching for you two... I dreaded this day since the day I saw that pic of Lacey in Darlene's lap in the buggy!!!

She gave you a long FUN filled life and taught the little ones some of her old tricks to keep you entertained... I know we all say she is in a better place, and we feel like there is no place better than in our homes... but our hearts go everywhere, and she will be with you in your heart forever!!!

Oh my gosh, I am so sorry to hear this. to you both and a prayer sent up to Lacey. Lacey was (along with Baja) my inspiration that we could have a dog and go to the dunes and they love it. It hurts so much but please know you both loved her with everything you have, and she knew that 10000%. We are like you guys, so often we plan our weekends if the dogs can go. Lacey,
You were my friend and you were my best friends friend. You welcomed us and played with us and were a part of our life. You gave more than you will ever know to Darlene and Frank and all of your friends like me and Baja. You made our lives richer and you filled all the empty spots in our hearts. You gave us comfort and taught us lessons. You never judged or questioned.
You, as a dog have given so much to so many people and never once asked for more than a little kibble, some clean water and a belly rub every once in a while.
I truely think that mankind would not be half the species we are without our friends, our dogs and you , Lacey are one of the finest of this very special group. I know that there is a very special place in heaven for all dogs and that you are there, with Baja and Maggie and all of your other doggie friends laughing and playing and rolling and getting your well deserved reward.
Thank you, Lacey, for being there, always, for Darlene and Frank and enriching their lives.
