System has two limit switches an up and a down. You need to make sure the limit switch for up, should be mounted high on the back rail, is not damaged or stuck shut. System will not let the motor work if it is closed. You should be able to disconnect the switch to check to see if it will work then. A shut switch tells the system the bunks are up and stops the power to the motor. Is it a Hapijac bed? Hapijac sells the parts..motors are about $250 if I remember right.

I think the switches are open normally, so just disconnecting them "should" work. The control board might need them to be connected, but I doubt it. When they close, they switch a relay that cuts power to the motor so you can't "overtravel" the carriage. I would guess that the up switch is stuck closed so it thinks the bed is up already.

I have this problem occasionally and I just play with the limit switches and the bed has so far started to work again.
