I would say Raptor 700 as well. I am not one for buying used, but I bought one used and saved alot of coin. Lot of them out there in stellar condition. Just my $.o2

700, no doubt about it.

Now that all the old slow guys have given there opinion. Lets ask what kind of rider are you ? What kind of Riding do you like to do ? Are you a larger rider or are you a buck fifty soaking wet with $30 in quarters in your pocket? then maybe you can get a answer beside I have had them all and I like this one best. My wife has a 700 and I don't like it for the dunes or the MX track but I like it in the Dez just fine . My TRX450 is quick and nimble it's light enough that if it gets out of shape and wants to do something unpredictable I can muscle it around and ride out of things I couldn't on a 700.

I'd go 700 also. The Honda is an outdated design (not trying to start a flame war, JMO) but it really hasn't changed other than an e start and some other minor things. You would have to put some money into it just to be at a stock Raptor. Maybe Honda will put the FI engine in a new wider LT TRX, then that would be a killer quad. The 700 is a good starting platform, and from what I hear mods very easy.

ive road quite a few quads in my day and i would not take anything over a raptor 700 for dune riding, great power no madder what mods stage u are at, plush ride that can still take some good hits.

if you are wanting a 450, get the new yamaha 450 with efi.
