Don't think so, other than the change of a arms from the weak j's to the stronger a arms, I think all parts are pretty interchangeables. with the exception of minor changes in the way the wiring terminals that may have changed that some wires connect in the key switch and the cdi (not the way the wires are routed just the way they connect, ie the terminals might be different)

yeah i really dont think there have been alot of changes. just minor ones to help the bike performe in a more reliable way thats about it. that and the color of the plastics.

I can't remember the year, but they changed the rear hubs to a smaller and stronger design.

I forgot that I had that... I switch to twist throttle right off the bat.
Yeah very minor changes from what I have seen. J arm to A-arm is the only thing major that has changed.

my buddy claimed that the new 2004 has a bigger gas tank but he just bought his and was going by what the guy told him. but i sat on the bike and nothing else felt different.
anyone else know if this is the last year they are making the banshee? he also claimed that too.

They have been saying that since 2002, latest I have heard is 2005 is the last year. I have heard that before though. I applaud Yamaha(yeah I said it

) for not buckling to the pressure and still producing a two stroke quad, even though it has been basically unchanged for 17 years.
