Posting this because of interest. I dont have many pictures, I have lost alot of them....

I did this build back in 2006/07 for a friend. He had paperwaded his 06 Z400 and didnt have the money to repair it and I had a 86 250 Quadracer that had been sitting for awhile so I sold him the quad as a roller and I kept the z400 roller. I basically just swapped out all of the electronics and engines out of both bikes straight across. I was amazed how heavy the Z400 really is!!! I had to modify the 250 frame very little to get the 400 to fit but if was very easy compared to the streetbike quads I have built.

He took the quad back to the East Coast a few years ago and hasnt riden it since so Im trying to buy it back currently as it was a squirrel on meth that just downed a gallon of Red Bull.

I need to search another computer to find more pictures, hopefully I still have them.

cool, will all the 86 plastics work with this set up? so it looks old school but has the "new school" feel? ie, electric start?

looks cool! How much modification was involved? Cost?

Not much at all. Maybe 500 not including the cost of the quad and PC. The few things that were modified was to clear the frame for the carb, add tabs for the coil and engine, the engine fits right in the stock location on the swing arm with come clearance, cut old tabs, and change the loaction of the stock pearooster on the gas tank. I wish I could find the other pics of this quad but I think they are long gone.
