Bought an 88 that has a twist which I absolutely can't stand. My question is If I slap on a 400ex,450r thumber do I just use a stock length cable. Bike has a 38PWK carb on it!!

no you have to get the right cable to run a 38, a 450R or 400ex thumb throttle will work fine, you just need the right cable. ESR sells them and its usaully there next day.

The throw in the 250R housing is longer then both the 400ex and 450R so like blackmagic said you will need a cable. I just cut my cable and tig welded a brass ball on the end and then shaped so it would go into the slide on my 40.5 works like a champ.
