Forced Overtime

Got invited on a run this weekend down in Mexico, it must have been a 40 mile ride from the little town of La Rumorosa(have no idea what it translates to) to Laguna Hanson [(Hanson Lake) which was a great dissapointment, a lake with no water

] any who, it was a great ride with some hills and some pretty gnarly rocky sections, rutted road. lots of turns and some long flat sections. I found out (in the rocky and rutted sections) that I definetly need a stearing stablizer. Any suggestions, I have heard that they are all pretty much the same and not very good. One of the guys in our party mentioned that you can mcguyver a volkswagen stabilizer and it would be much better than anything out in the market.... Any opinions, recommendations or experiences????????????

There was a topic on this a while ago. Lots of good info. Give it a day or two. You'll have all the info you need. Never heard of the VW thing

The scotts is an excellent unit. No one I know that has one including myself think it's garbage. It's also fully rebuildable by the user and easy to get parts for. Need a damper for another bike? Buy another bracket and swap out your scotts between the two. Easy. There is a reason so many racers use them and it's not because they are garbage.

The ones that mount on the top of the steering stem on the handlebar mounts work the best, i.e. the Scotts and GPR. The ones like the Denton and PEP, witch are a push-pull type mounted somewhere along the steering stem, work ok but not as good as the others. However they cost a hell of a lot less than the others...$150 vs. $400!

I’m currently looking for someone that make a handlebar clamp that will mount a Scotts damper and have two mounting spots up front for my lights. Is there anybody that makes one or am I going to have to hack away at my current mount to be able to attach the damper?

You need to cut off the end of the shaft and thread it for a Heims joint
I tucked mine up under the tank so you can't see it.
If your going to do it do the SCOTT. I've had them all on my 250R and the Scott on my C-dale works the best....86

Have scott on my shee, nice. Put a PEP on my craptor, not bad, but then I found Hyperpro, its bad-ass. Its re-buildable, it wont require any mods to your quad nor will it go near your lights. Its truley a quality iteam. They make'em for street bikes but they have a qaud line also. Blows away the comp. and its fully adjustable and out of the way. If you go to www.sportquad.com in the project raptor section they have a full write up. Its very nice.

That HyperPro is interesting. It has the same hi-lo speed damping like the Scotts but in a push-pull design.

Scotts is the BEST!!! Dont spend your money on anything else. Anything else will just wear your arms out.
