Coming back from Dockwieler RV park, did not feel it when if happened, stopped about 80 miles from the RV park to feed my son and thats when I noticed it. I have no idea how long I was driving with the damaged tire
I need to find a new fender, if I can't find one to match the other side, I guess I can buy two new ones that will fit. Any ideas where to purchase OEM or aftermarket? Trailer is a Thor Tahoe 26FS 2008
Tires were in excellent condition as far as I can tell, almost 3 years old though, wonder if I should replace them all just to be on the safe side

something caused the belts to shift and seperate for it to lose the tread like that. either hitting something or more likely from scrubbing from tight u-turns or such. its obviously not a carlisle seeing as it didnt explode when the tread came off. they look like greenball highway masters, i had them on my old trailer, good tires.
depending on where your located, might try walt's rv in fontana. everyone says they have anything and everything for rvs

I replace trailer tires every 3 years regardless of how they look. With tandem or especially triple axles the drag when turning tears the belts up. It's just not worth the expense and headaches to have a blowout that has the possibility of tearing up the trailer.

I looked into replacing the fender on my Attitude, it's a cheap plastic fender and the screws pulled through. They wanted $280, I spent 98 cents for washers and used some left over drywall screws.

Thanks for the help, will search for Walts RV's phone #.
They are Highway Masters, made in Taiwan. I have 4 utility trailers that I use in my business and have never had the tread come off of them like this. have had Tansmaster, Carlisle, and a few other brands.
Too bad Costco doesn't carry Maxxis tires anymore, they had the best prices on trailer tires.

File a claim with the tire manufacturer, you might get lucky and they'll pay for all the damages. Happened to me with some Goodyear tires, they paid for everything, including new tires all the way around. Make sure you save the tire that went.

Found 3 of my tires ( Transmasters) starting to separate last trip out. Replaced them in Brawley, by the time I got home the other three were showing signs...
I ended up replacing all 6 with Firestone LT tires. I wanted the Michelin XPS Ribs, but too spendy right now.
I say swap them all. And I didnt do it this time, I figured they were too old to argue with the manufacturer, but on my old trailer Carslisle was really quick to make a deal to replace all their crap tires...

Nope, never heard from them them, eff them! Still haven't found something that works, though I have not tried looking to hard. I did take the trailer to a local RV repair shop for a genny issue and they told me they could find a pair that would work, just haven't taken it back to them. Will do it soon.
On the next trip to Dockweiler, ANOTHER tire lost it's tread and did not notice it until I had the trailer parked at the beach! Tread did not take the fender this time! (other side of trailer) Once again no idea how long I was driving with it like that, but I said eff it, new tires all around. Got there on Friday afternoon, called all around, found a place in Long Beach to order me some new E rated tires, took off all 4 off the trailer, had them mounted on trailer by Saturday evening.

De-treading tires does a lot more damage than a blowout. A rear tire de-treaded on my Excursion and wiped out the rear fender. Nothing that a little bondo couldn't cure though...
I can't get two years out of the Carlisle E rated tires. My 26 foot Tahoe came with Carlisle D tires, and I smoked through those quickly. I replaced all of them at Discount / All American Tires for the Carlisle E tires. They blow just as fast. Discount won't carry them anymore and are going with Transmaster. Great warranty at Discount too. Once you pay the initial new tire price, they replace the blow outs for hardly anything. I've paid about 16 bucks for each of the Transmaster tires. Only one Carlisle left on my trailer, you'll probably see me somewhere on the road between San Diego and Glamis changing it out before this summer. It's a time bomb, tick tock, tick tock.....

Wow, didn't know you could still do that. Do I spin the "0" on the rotary dial?
