I have a tether switch but it just came in a bag with no instructions on what wires to hook this thing into. I'm entering a race on the 16th and need it to enter. Any help would be appreciated.

What kind is it? i think most of them hook up into one of the coil wires somewhere, but other wise i wouldnt take my advise on this one, because im not sure

If I am not mistaken, it connects to the black and white wire (shut off).
The original kill switch has to have a black/white wire. That wire usually goes to the coil. Disconnect that wire and connect it to the tether switch.

Yup, black and white wire
Should i tap into the wiring up around the on/off switch on the handle bars??

Yep,
One of the wires must be connected to a good ground.
The other tap it to the existing wire coming from or to the ignition kill switch.
Now you are ready to crash and have piece of mind knowing your quad will shut off and wait for you to get up and keep riding

If I had the bike in front of me I could help you.
I have lots of electronics experience being an Electrical Engineer.
If you know basic electronics and have a multimeter (a cheap one will do), take your current kill switch appart, I can walk you through each step to determine which cables to connect or disconnect.
I have a raptor, but I am not sure if the kill switches are the same or alike.
As soon as I get home today, I will open my switch, and let you know how mine works.

I'll give the wiring coming from the coil a shot. If there is a solid white wire, that should be the one!! It's monday morning, i'll try tonight to see if it'll work.
Thanks Haz

F.Y.I......YFZ450 has an orange wire and a white white coming from the top of the spark plug. Under the front cowl where the mess of wires are you'll see the 2 wires there with a black connector. Tap into the white wire with the white wire on the tether then ground the black wire. 3 hours of trial and error and 10 blown 15A fuses

, but i figured it out!!!
