getting ready to adjust the valves this summer and figure I'd drop in a cam while in there. What's a good all around cam and does it really make a difference. Should I do both or just the intake cam. Bike is an 06 with Dasa pipe/fuel intake/PCIII fuelatv map.
wingnut
You only do the intake cam. To be honest, I did it on one of mine and I don't think it was really worth it.

those ltrs just dont like engine mods for some reason
Morgan
For the mods you have I would suggest taking the stock exhaust cam out and retarding it 5*. Any local machine shop will be able to do this for you.

????????????? Thats insanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you drop in a Hotcam on the intake side, and add a Cp 13.1 piston, you will easily be in the 50's with the rest of your mods. You will have to do the piston if you are doing the cam, otherwise its a waste of time and you will loose bottom end. With this, you have to run race gas, but you can use 50/50 race gas/pump gas. Ive had this combo for over 2 years now, runs perfect and reliable.

Thats cause people dont do em right. If you mod this engine, you HAVE to put a power comander on it, and have it dyno tuned by someone with an eddy current dyno, that has a exh. gas analizer hooked up to it!

If it aint broke, dont fix it.

sorry let me rephrase that, what i mean is they dont make much power from what ive seen. i ride a fi bike as well so know what it takes to make them run right. sorry but i dont consider 50s to be much power.
Morgan
There are some fast LTRs out there....They have this writing on them "Rockstar Makita Suzuki" the rest my freinds are crap. One of the worst FI systems in the business to start modding. Like rivermobster said a PC3 is a must if you are going to get anywhere. Prepare to have fuel system issues if you ever run leaded race fuel through it. The baddest one I have ever done was 66HP only to get stomped by a 60HP stockbore Honda.

Bike is staying stock as far as compression. Runs like a rapped ape in stock for which is good enough for me. Just need to try some different maps for this PCIII. Cold starting is a biatch right now with this fuelatv map. Or it might be something else not too sure yet.

What ever, not trying to start yet another my brand of bike is better and faster than yours, just trying to point a fellow LTR owner into possible power add ons.

I apologize if that's how it came across. I also have an LTR, and I've worked on a hundred of them, just not what I would consider a "Mod" friendly bike is all.

+1 ltr are good bikes for what they are built for, i personaly just wouldnt make one a drag bike is all, just like i would never try to make a raptor 700 into a track bike.
