I am sure many of you have a WW that has the stupid little storage area for the 50 amp cord that is a battle to store or undo when plugging in at home or a RV park... I think after 4 years of fighting and cursing at the design the cord has twisted so much that I have noticed it start melting insulation/sheath at one point (a major issue).... Has anyone redesign their setup? what is the easiest and most economical setup? I am thinking about cutting the WW cord to a foot.. Just enough to connect the generator and then using a 50 amp external extension cord when connecting to the house or a hook up..

Expensive as a kit, Ive been buying mine a part at a time off Ebay deals. I did the 30A kit on my old trailer- was a great upgrade.

After more research the water heater is right below the 50 amp storage box/hook-up and it slightly melted the outer insulation of the 50 AMP cord.. Ooops!
