Mothers billet polish works well, use a clean rag thought. Another old trick is to do a final polish with a soft sock, or micro fiber towel and flour (yes, baking flour).

This is great for cleaning up dull previously polished wheels.

Remember to wash the wheel thouroughly with soap/car wash and water first

they are stock or douglas? they're just going to get dull again laughing.gif

I've had great luck with flitz, its a cream and does a great job.
I also just bought britemax and it did absolute wonders on my chrome bumpers on my truck. I've literally scrubbed them and thought they were ruined, I used this stuff 1 time and they shine better than new if that's possible. This stuff works awesome.
I also did a few spots on my weld wheels and it looked super there also.

and also try zano brothers out of new york or jersey, I hear they were bought out by mothers, but that stuff is amazing also.

what is best to buff them with? i have access to towels as well as the cotton diapers
Wheelie Bar
bro,
if its far from gone,
the only way to go is with wet sanding, by hand, then buff wheel on a drill, then the trucker's secret "baking flour" to finish it off!

ohh btw- the last pic is only about half way done
bottom line is polish wheels suck! but god it feels good when its done!

John, I have used and like the Mothers billet polish. If you polish a wheel as your watching TV it doesn't seem like its that much work. Thats what I do.
If your worried about the polish flying with the powerball and this is for your quad wheels try putting them in a big box and go to town with the drill and powerball.
ElCaminoManT
the powerball just doesnt seem to cut it. my wheels are SHOT! have had them for 6 years now and have only done a quick polish with the powerball like 4 years ago. even then i wasnt that impressed

Yep. Best stuff EVER right there. Workin your azz off is over. Wipe it on, wipe it off and your done. I've used em all over the years, nothing is easier to use, or shines better than MetalWax.

(look close between the spokes. try and do that with polishing compound, no way its gonna happen!)

i snagged a small can of mothers mag & aluminum polish from a friend and gave it a try...wow! without much effort at all, the test wheel was looking great. gave 10 mins to one of the front wheels a little bit ago and see for yourself the results. ive only taken pics of a front so far, but the rears are actually easier

I use Mother's Billet, I have tried many products including the Power Ball and they just don't work like old fashioned muscle greese. Micro fiber towels and micro fiber gloves, of course I keep my wheels up, I'm not trying to polish a dull wheel.

I've always hand polished my buggy Douglas wheels by hand. when I started driving trucks the company polish every single thing that was aluminum and gave us some polish and said take care of her cause she makes you money and we provide a service. The polisher's would come around every few months and check out the trucks and yes they needed to make their money and would tell the owner which trucker were EFFed. I have used ever polish that's out there and the professional polishers mix has been the best. its called Zephyr pro 40 and he would take a bottle and make it in to two by adding regular gas which makes it easier to polish and work, and the black soot just wipes off and my truck bling's. I've tried Master formula that they sell at the SSS and many other truck shop stop polishes like rabbit and others. His mix has always turned out the best. He's a professional aluminum polisher that does all aluminum race horse trailers so I trust him what he use's. so I'm just passing the word along. Here is a site you can get it or just for reference what it looks like. you buy one bottle split in in to two and add regular gas and your ready to go crazy polishing.! it works great on chrome and puts a protective coat with from the polish and the oils in the gas, I'm tellin you
try it if you like dunno.gif its the Green shizzz
