which is the preferred for a DS650. Its definatley going to be a 22" paddle just dont know wether or not i want extremes or haulers and how many paddles. Quads are kinda foriegn to me lol im used to ridin those 2 wheeled things.

The DS isn't a terribly powerful quad but it is heavy. 22's are a good choice for some sidewall flex to help grip. I would stick with 8 paddle haulers aired down to 2.5-3psi. The extremes won't gain you anything. Carefull running that psi in Dumont though. Those submerged rocks in the flats will dink a rim in a heartbeat.

we usually stick around 5psi just for that reason :P the front rim the 500 is proof those little buggers will jump outta the sand and fk up a rim quick

Get extremes they are for heavy bikes. The only difference in the haulers and extremes are the extremes are an 1/8th inch thicker. The paddle height and length is the same as the haulers. I would get the thicker extremes and that is what I want to do on my DS.

i wouldnt get extremes myself like haulers, lighter and better flex in the scoops, only time i would recomend running extremes over haulers is when there is a chance u will have cups being ripped off (like 300ft drag racing). imo the best thing to do is call up sand toys unlimited and ask for john, he knows more about paddles than anyone i talked to.

I have a built Ds and run the Extremes. They will last a lot longer, plus if you do any power upgrades then you are all ready set.

YOUR 100% wrong
xtremes are taller and thicker paddles to keep from bending back. you have to realize that extremes equal out to be a paddle more in hauler langauge, meaning a 7 paddle extreme is like a 8 paddle hauler, id run 22 inch 7 paddles on a ds.

No he is right.
They are only 1/8 thicker they are the same heights at 7/8.
http://www.skat-trak.com/paddletire.htmlI run 22" 8 paddle and it turns them fine. If you do any upgrades you will want a 8 paddle.

http://www.skat-trak.com/paddletire.htmlYa unless Skat Trak lies...I've always wondered why people thought that when it says on their website that they are only an 1/8th inch thicker to handle heavier bikes better. So I don't think I'm 100% wrong...Maybe people are thinking of the Rippers when they say Extremes are bigger???

I used to run extreme 9 paddles. If you bike isn't beefed up go with the 8 paddle. DS have plenty of power to move them.

I've had a couple DS's. I believe the biggest diameter paddle you can run is 20". Unless you have an extended swingarm the 22" will hit the rear foot guards and fenders.

sand dunes addict has the same model as me with no mod's and runs 22" padla brats.. I think the extremes in 8 cup is the direction im headed

If they hook too much nothin a couple PSI cant fix

Extremes are thicker and hook harder than haulers. On a bigger heavier bike they will last much longer than reg haulers. On a high hp bike they dont bend and flex over like haulers either. I believe like it was stated they are 1/8 thicker and they are 1/8 taller... and equal adding 1 paddle compared to a hauler.
I have seen many reg haulers rip the seam or edge.. and I had almost 5 hard seasons on my extremes... which i believe was due to them being thicker and stronger while my friends replaced there haulers for rips...
I vote for 7 paddle extremes on that ds...
